Robert is a good hand, like most southern boys used to be. ❤ Those feet out of stirrups makes it less dangerous if you have to bail also. We could all use a Robert, especially those of us that are old enough we don't roll, bounce and spring back up anymore. 😂

Tim I think that lunge technique is great. Can learn a lot by how a horse uses itself and about that brain. Plus it shows how snappy those roll backs will be lol.

The weather has been crazy this winter. We had 17 this morning and supposed to be almost 60 tomorrow. Our storm started out as snow, freezing rain and then all rain on top of 12" of snow. My horse is going to have a while off. I don't have an indoor.

the "weather" is being exchanged with gas and electricity. When they stop spraying, the temperature drops.

Let's trade bad weather? Ours 20 to 30 mph winds, gusts to 65 mph and snow showers. By Friday, high -5 , lows, -24! Bet you're feeling better about your weather now? So enjoy what I'm learning from your videos. Thanks again! 🥶

What is the urban dictionary meaning of Madamn? Being a retired French teacher I am interested! My last name is Demick, the kids used to call me Damn Demick behind my back, Madame to my face 🤣

I don't know....when I ride a horse that's a little green or "goosey", I'll often not put my right foot in the stirrup. That way, if the horse should decide to buck, I can bail out much more easily. JMO.

this is how i lunge my stallion , only bridle and lungewip , also the chanching direction, nobody in our whole ridingschool does it that way! but i am very different of all the rest ! me and my stallion are a team , the rest are people with a horse and the horses they stopped thinking together with them........ that's a shame! you loose so much when a horse stops thinking together with you as a leader and rider! they don't understand why i ride so little , well ............ he knows and understand the things i ask him when i ride , he is there with me , thinks with me , tries and works with me!! no need to keep repeating that every day over and over till he falls over from boredom . still so much to learn tough, i have a great wizardly trainer!! he comes over every week and sometimes i just fall of my horse from wondering where he ever learned all the stuff

With the lightning and thunder here in Florida, do horses get “freaked out” if in the stable from the noise and lightning strikes?

You lunge the way I was taught to lunge. You are not forcing the horse to run through you. I see people doing this exercise and cringe…thankfully most horses forgive us for poor handling skills.

Tim, stopped the video at 1:39 to let you know you don’t understand horse language. You should be quiet. You could do a voice over later to let us know what you were doing, why, what you saw, what you expected to see or whatever. When you are with a horse you should be mostly quiet. You should not stare directly at the horses face the entire time. You don’t need to look at her face at all times. You don’t need to face her directly at all times. You have no understanding of a horse and how they react to their immediate surroundings. You have no feel for what a horse might do. You don’t know how to get a horse to respond to what you expect from her. Never blame the horse for not understanding you the second you decide what you want her to do. There is a language horses use that you are unaware of. I’m guessing that you expect the horse to know your language already and you haven’t given her the time to learn it. Besides, you should be more intelligent than the horse…why not learn her language and speak to her in her language. You would get better and faster results if you try speaking to her in horse language. Do try harder and then come back to show us how much better you can be. Good luck.
