Timber Creek is a traveller’s oasis on the doorstep of Gregory National Park in the Katherine region. We enjoyed our 4nt stay at the Wirib Tourism Park and loved exploring the local sites and attractions, including-
* Timber Creek Lookout
* Nackeroos Memorial
* Heritage Trail and Police Station Museum
* Gregory's Tree
* Big Horse Creek
With covid impacting WA border rules we made our way west … and crossed our fingers that there wouldn’t be any issues. Following a brief stopover at the Saddle Creek Rest Area, we camped overnight at Keep River National Park (only 3km from the border checkpoint). We woke early and patiently joined a lengthy line of travellers waiting to cross the border into Western Australia!
Time to hit the road!

Brings back memories here. Doing the race and rodeo carnival circuit in 1978. Camped out at the racecourse. Won a two horse race 🤣😂🤣, played two-up and generally had fun. But I believe the racecourse area was taken over by the military, does anyone know? Such a long time ago.

The Australian Government purchased Bradshaw Station for a military training area back in 1996 ... not sure if the racecourse was here 🤔
