Nick talks through the process of putting glass in the handmade, hand-milled doors that he has made for our timber frame cabin. These doors will go up on the interior and exterior of our covered porch, which we call the mudroom.
If you missed the prequel to this, where he made the doors, that link is here. • TIMBER FRAME BUILD -- ...
Hanging the doors should be edited and up tomorrow.
Enjoy!
As I'm writing this one door is on the hinges and the other door is nearly there. You can see a picture of it on our Instagram or Facebook. And I should have that video up tomorrow!

About the Fouch Family: We are Nick and Esther, and our three kids Milo, Stella, and Sadie. We have lived off the grid -- in the sense of not connected to the power grid -- for four years on three acres of wooded land in Southwestern Idaho. Nick is a finish carpenter working on building his own business. Esther is a writer, the author of a recent memoir called "What Falls From the Sky," and a daughter of the homesteading teacher and activist Carla Emery, who wrote "The Encyclopedia ofCountry Living." Nick and Esther were both raised in Idaho, near where we live now, but we've also lived in Massachusetts, Utah, and California. Our kids are ages 10, 8 and 5.
