The Hawk Mountain home is one of Timberpeg's most wildly popular homes. This compact ski house takes advantage of its steep site by having a large deck plus a balcony off the master bedroom. The main living area is on the view side of the first floor, with a small bedroom for guests and a dual purpose bath. Upstairs the master bedroom, bath and study occupy the whole floor, offering privacy. The alpine details make this a charming weekend retreat.

Absolutely beautiful inside and out but I am a bit concerned about the cheap paneling on the outside of the cabin. The interior is decorated wonderfully and it looks very very comfortable. How much land does a cabin like that come with do you have any lots that are available close to a stream that you can see and finally what is the approximate cost for one identical to that

Hello Joe, Sorry we did not respond faster. We do not sell land but are a custom design and timber frame manufacturing company (you can see our website at www.timberpeg.com). Are you currently looking for land or already own land? If so, please send a direct email to info@timberpeg.com and let us know where you are looking to build and we can put you in touch with someone who can discuss your building plans. Best, Timberpeg

How do you know it's cheap paneling? Perhaps you meant, not to your liking and you would put something different on the house when you build? I doubt very much that Timberpeg would showcase a house with any "cheap"materials. Every Timberpeg home I have ever seen was built well and with quality materials.

Looking at doing this on our 10 acres we just bought. Any estimate on a price for something like this and what kind of foundation did you use?

@whshomes 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for reaching out, @chickenjo23. We are a timber frame manufacturer and do not provide the foundation. The Timberpeg® package includes the timber frame and all materials to construct a weather-tight shell. You can learn more about what we provide on our website here: timberpeg.com/package You can also learn more about the general cost to build a Timberpeg here: timberpeg.com/timber-frame-building-costs We would love to hear more about your building plans (i.e. where you are planning to build, when you would like to get started, details about your land, etc.) Please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at info@timberpeg.com or through our website to speak with someone directly.

The design looks Great (!!!), but as a New Englander one of my first concerns is heating and insulation. I know your firm build one these in Vermont, but how does it stand up to a classic New England Winter?
@GC83163
@GC83163 5 жыл бұрын
This is our house. I can tell you the panels they use are extremely well insulated and efficient. When we turn the heat off in the winter it often takes days for the temp to drop to 55, where we keep it when not in residence.

@@GC83163 Garret, beautiful place, we have been studying this design for years, considering it for a carriage house on a lake in northern Idaho. Please help with several concerns; we will typically see 5-12 feet of snow during winter. It appears that the roof on this design will shed a lot of snow over the area where the garage doors are. Do you see this as an issue with your home? Is ice damming and roof leakage a problem for you with the roof design? Have you had any problems with rodents getting into the foam in the SIP panels or roof? Were the SIP panels pre cut to allow for electrical and plumbing, or did the contractor need to cut and fit in the field? If you prefer to respond directly: oltean2@msn.com

Great Home Great Plan ..But for that PRICE LOUSY BOARD & BATTON
@KrosanBeast315
@KrosanBeast315 5 жыл бұрын
You do not know the quality of the Battons, so you cannot say for certain pertaining to this particular house. My house is also done by Timberpeg, but only the front of the house has battons and those battons help hide the Front Door so it blends right into the house's front wall. The battons help misdirect the eyes from where the Door actually is to where I want someone to think the Front Door is. Since the Front Door is the most visible, weakest(structurally), and quietest point of entry in the event of a Break-In, my Front Door is hidden by a Secret Door in front and they are not facing either the main Road or the Driveway.

How is it that you have enough space in your ceiling for the electrical boxes from which the lighting is suspended? Is anyone responding to any of the comments?

Hello, We apologize for not responding faster. There are many different solution that address your concern but they can vary greatly, including the building codes where the home is located. If you would like to speak with someone about your building project and discuss the options in more detail, feel free to send us a direct email at info@timberpeg.com or call 800-636-2424.

Those things are considered in the plans. I have a Timberpeg house as well in progress, schedule to be completed by July 2019 at the latest. There are always solutions for any technical problems, spacial relations for managing floor space, etc. if you have the imagination and ambition to think in a way not limited by conventional design. My house has had several things implemented that are one-of-a-kind for Timberpeg and many things that are Firsts for Timberpeg. There are many innovative and novel features not seen in any other Timberpeg home so far. It also has the most Secret Areas, Hidden Passageways, Hidden Doors and Hidden Rooms ever done by Timberpeg. Hence, it makes sense in some ways why my Timberpeg house is translated from Japanese to English as "The Palace of the Different One."

Lovely cabin! Just too old to have to carry every suitcase, grocery bag, dog food. Everything right down to firewood UP the stairs. You would need $$$$$$$$ for a elevator, during the build! Not an age in place home.
