BAC FACTORY TOUR - Neill Briggs, co-founder of Briggs Automotive Company, gives me a behind the scenes tour of Briggs Automotive Company, to show us how the legendary Mono is built, how they operate as a business, how they are overcoming Covid and a sneak peak of the new 2021 BAC Mono.

The Mono was first introduced in 2011. It is a single seater, F1-inspired road-going track supercar that offers unbelievable performance. On this tour of BAC factory, we find out what went into that car back in 2011 as it comes to the end of its production ready for the new 2020 BAC Mono.
The 2021 BAC Mono is a higher-performance, lighter and more advanced version of the single-seater supercar that’s fully road legal across continental Europe and around the world. This new generation supercar from Liverpool-based firm BAC, the newcomer epitomises how form enhances function with reductions in visual mass across the body, less frontal area and a lower height creating a sleeker, more organic overall appearance.
Directly behind the driver is the 2.3-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which is more powerful than its predecessor - +27hp to give 332bhp - and offers in excess of 400Nm of torque. The Mono weighs just 570kg despite numerous additions under the skin to fall in line with European regulations, thanks to the inclusion of a number of technological feats.
The most outstanding thing about the Mono is not the design but the performance. With a power-to-weight ratio of 582bhp-per-tonne - 57bhp-per-tonne higher than the original Mono’s figure - the iconic single-seater will continue to offer a totally unparalleled, scintillating driving experience.

That factory looks amazing! So organised 😍 I'm loving the inspiration for the shape of the car and how everything flows together perfectly! I remember watching Top Gear when this was driven, back then I loved it & all these years later, to see the factory & how these cars are built is fantastic! I wish I were rich enough to buy a BAC Mono with the intention of swapping its engine with a JUDD V10. Just imagine its performance on the track. I can't think of a single super or hypercar that could compete with it, not even the Carparo T1.

Pair it up with a 1:10 RC version and a non powered 1:18 scale model and your customers will absolutely love the collectors package it would make. Also, trying in line 6 cil turbocharged engines for this beast would take it from a street legal formula 3 to a street legal formula 2 vehicle and a limited run of those (like 10 of them) could become a holy grail like any paganni or koenninseg model. Just saying.

BAC have factory engineers who travel to customers to perform maintenance... or for bigger jobs, cars are brought back to the factory. Top quality service from these guys, really is like nothing else
