My daughter was a baby when "Hurts So Good" came out. Every time it came on, I would sing the chorus to her, and she would just laugh and laugh. She was just a few months old. We kind of grew up together listening to John. Now I'm 59, and she's 41. My Christmas present from her this year is that she will be taking me to see him on April 10th in Little Rock. What a full circle moment that will be when he sings that song. 😢😊

Showing my mom how he looks like now and her reaction was "wow! he still cute just like when he was young. Good man! I love him since the 80s!" Makes my heart melt hearing her say that ☺️

wow, hes now playing it a whole step down!! originally played in Amaj, now he plays it in Gmaj. sounds kinda dark..lol. most singers as they age play a half step down, it makes the singers voice sound higher than it is, pat benetar plays her stuff a half step down. I think it sounds cool, dark and dirty.

Muito técnico teu comentário. Em que ano tu nasceu, só para eu entender o quanto tu entende sobre música

99% of artists play live half step down it’s like almost ALWAYS half step live haha nothing new.

Still sounds good but, dang,...ole boy looks like Gabby Hayes. Yep, suspenders and all. I'm an old dude myself, You can tell by the reference. Look up Gabby Hayes. LOL!

I get the reference because I’m old like you. LOL It’s pretty good though. With age we have wisdom, experience and best of all, treachery. I thank God every day I’m not a Gen-Z kid. We were lucky enough to have enjoyed some of the greatest music ever recorded. So I like being a grumpy old man. I like having camped out for concert tickets instead of this Ticketmaster bullshit. I love that we grew up with FM radio when there were actual DJs who did shows and took requests instead of all this programmed format. I saw him live on the Scarecrow and Lonesome Jubilee tours. To this day, two of the best concerts I ever experienced. I grew up in the “Kentuckiana” area so Mellencamp has been to us, what Springsteen is to Jersey.

That boy aint got long. He better ask for Jesus to come into his heart and forgive him. Funny he knows what's good and still plays the stuff everyone loved. His sound went downhill after he fired his 80's band.

Yeah those 5 packs of smokes a day is rough. Surprised he can still sing. Always been a fan. The podcast with Bill Maher was great.
