The Time Bandits are an electro-disco-funk band from the Netherlands featuring leadsinger Alides Hidding.
Alides Hidding had a solohit in Holland in 1980 with the song "Hollywood Seven" on Polydor. One year later he scored his first top 10 hit with his band Time Bandits with "Live It Up".
A string of hits would follow.

Get off of your high horse. 🤣 A lot of stuff you guys produce doesn't make it here either. It has nothing to do with who is the best producer or who is the best judge, but has everything to do with cultural differences and how they influence our taste in food, clothing, movies, music, art, sports and so on. Culture changes depend on your history that you went through as a community, where each event, big or small, nudges a community in a new direction culturally. That is why each country in the world have developed their own peculiar tastes, and that it doesn't mean a thing on a world wide scene if one of those countries likes you.

@@d.r49 this song is from the early eighties around the time the USA was listening to Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers etc. Beside that a few Dutch bands had hits over there (Golden Earring with Radar Love and Shocking Blue with Venus as a few examples). I have nothing against the USA, but against ignorance. Who helped you in your independence war against the Brits? France and the Dutch (they smuggled weapons and other supplies). Who reconized the USA as an independed country? Well that was the Frisian state (part of The Netherlands). You whole system is based on the 'Plakaat van Verlatinghe' (that is what we wrote to became independed). The fourth of july is based on 'Leidens ontzet' that we have a day earlier. So if you truly believe that every country outside is crappy, well that makes you not any better since your country has some influences from those too ;)
