Time For A Home School Field Trip

We've had it! It's time to get out of the house. Luckily I know where we can go w her no one else will be. Nick isn't crazy about the idea because he has to take off his PJs. Johnny is an awesome help as usual. Nick is more agitated than usual and maybe has an ear infection. We're all still thankful for another day.

Aw those dogs are hilarious, rocky hanging off the bed but they knew nick needed soothing. I know that handsome boy wasn't feeling too good with his ear but he lights up when hes near water. Nothing beats the loves between a mother & her son, such love between them. I really hope & pray his ear gets better asap. We're now on complete lock down in UK, police have began questioning & moving ppl on if outside.🙏🙏 for a swift end to covid19. I teared up when jick said God bless you at the end. Nick has a nice catch and spiral. Before I developed intracranial hypertension I was excellent with football. I taught my little brother how to throw. We grew up playing football every day with our herd of neighbor kids. It was our favorite game and when I played I forgot I had autism. I am happy to see Nick doing so much activities! I live in a rehab facility. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned that before but I have a physical disability and this is just where I need to be right now. But anyway, right now parents are having their kids draw pictures and hang them on the outside of residents rooms to cheer them up since there’s a national ban of visitors to facilities. I know in a lot of special education class rooms they do community type projects. Just an idea! You’re doing awesome man!! ❤️

Video idea, for those wanting to learn about Autism. Talking about certain things that may set Nick off, things off limits bringing up, having around, etc.???? For example, my nephew will get upset if you bring up things he deems as "sacred." Talking about stuff like the movies E.T. or Never Ending Story, or the people or situations in them, games he plays. I have a question about schools and this stay at home order. Are there plans in place by the state DOE of NY for Nick or your NT students to do online classes? Here in PA we are also on lockdown (though people are still “being rebels” as you put it) but we’ve been getting flooded with emails about starting online coursework on Monday - even for our son’s autism support school. I’m finding that I have to learn how to use teleconference software like Zoom. I think it may soon be more commonplace in the future / especially for kids who may miss school frequently for medical or emotional support reasons. We went through something like this. What do you think?

Neil K Walk we are probably all feeling nervous about home schooling for our special needs kids. But we have to try. If it’s going to result in him having an emotional meltdown than the plan will have to change. We will be using Zoom next week for OT PT and speech. I’m sure that our kids will give their parents push back 😂 but we are strong and we can only do our best. 💙💙
