I got my RS13s in and they sound very good. I did buy a Rel HT/1508 for my near field subwoofer which sits behind my couch. The Rel eliminated a null I could not EQ my way out of plus compliments the RS13s. The RS13s are deeper but the Rel hits harder, together they complement one another well. The RS13s are taller but the shorter, wider Rels take up more floor space.

There is absolutely no comparison between the SVS subs you mentioned and the JTR. The JTR bests them in every way. SVS are nothing special and are the most expensive subs on the market for what you get for your money. Watch some of Youthmans videos comparing SVS to JTR so you don't have to take my word for it. If you can afford a JTR, you should look no further. Those are an end game subwoofer.

Thanks for the review. I am in the hunt for a relatively small sub mainly for music and hifi. When it comes to subwoofers I find many reviews sort of confusing, honesty. What is musical in a subwoofer? Isn't it just frequency response, linearity, timing and a ability to respond as quick as possible to the inputsignal that matters? Musicality is a result of those parameters is met. Nothing moore, nothing less. Correct?

Have you ever done a review on more affordable subwoofers? I would love to be able to pay over €1000 for a subwoofer but that's not an option for me. €500 would be pushing my budget to it's limit. I know a subwoofer at my budget wouldn't be anywhere as good as those expensive dubs you have but it's all I have for now. I did have a Yamaha YET SW150 many moons ago. It had 2 x 8" subwoofers in it and it was well able to push 18Jz. The bass from it was insane. I have never been able to find another subwoofer to match it since I sold it 17 years ago. Also with me being in a housing estate and my neighbours very close then I can't really have a sound system that's really loud. I have been looking at a Yamaha NS SW300. Right now I can't afford it but I am waiting for the delivery of a Yamaha NS SW100 10" dub. It's underpowered @50 watts RMS and peaks at 100eatts but it will do for a few months. It's replacing a Behringer B20902a which is supposedly 240 watts but the subwoofers inside bottom out real easily and the powersupply in the amp plate is very noisey. I never have the volume of the sub above 25% either. Also I don't have a home cinema myself. I have my amp and speakers in a 12' long x 11' wide living room which is another reason why I don't need a very powerful dub. I just need a sub that will go low down in bass.
