Jack, you're an interesting guy & how your brain works compliments such. I understand you fully, only for your own well being, please focus outwardly & take full interest in what's around you, more importantly 'nature' absorb it fully. Maybe 'do' conversate with others instead of shying away...it'll actually help with becoming less internalised. Your introvert ways enable you to be internalled in your thoughts, ruminating with internal dialogue, though there has to be balance & actually more towards outward thinking. Don't bother about others & what they think or do, many of which aren't genuine...Many YT vanlifers don't live in their/a van, it's all for show, just the same with many who do Wild Outdoors camping/bushcraft living videos. Much of it is false, just for show & make believe. They're actually scamming their viewers. Such types have nothing worthy to look upto whatsoever. Just do it your way & be your genuine self. Remember, this isn't a job for you, so no pressure, just enjoy & do as you feel. All the best.

I really appreciate your thoughtful insights! Balancing introspection with outward engagement can be tricky, but I’ll definitely take your advice to heart. It's one of those cases, I guess, where you need to force yourself. And maybe after a couple of attempts, or if you meet just the right conversational partner that you can "bounce off" on, things will find a more natural balance. I will keep you posted!

Yes and no. In the photo I took, t wasn't very clear - but it really was NOT the only place with trees and shade. That is what made it so annoying. Although I am glad I moved to a totally different city, another option would have been for me - to just drive 100 metres further to that shaded place ... But that'as not how my brain worked at that moment!

Firstly, awesome videos! Love your ramblings, makes it feel as if we're there with you on your travels. Also do the videos primarily for yourself as a journal or diary and don't look at it as a chore that you have to do for your subscribers. Whoever wants to join you virtually on your adventure by following your videos can do so if they wish. Most of all, enjoy your time and stay safe!

You nailed it! Think of it as a travel diary with a sprinkle of chaos-a bit like me, really...

I can totally relate to the constant internal monologue or train of thoughts. I, too, often cannot get to sleep because of thoughts of this or that. I've found it helpful--if for no other reason than to get the thought out of repeating in my head on an endless loop--to write down that specific thought and review it in the morning. Once on paper, it no longer rattles around and I can sleep. Love your rambling videos. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.

We watch your videos because you are in them. Don’t worry about the rest, you are interesting and sexy. The van probably parked next to you because he recognised you and wanted to meet you! It did look quite cruisy there!!! Keep up the great work M

Really enjoy your rambling and the visuals too. some people will compare themselves to you also. Your physique and lifestyle would be sought after ! I’ve started my passport application, new to me van is being worked on for conversion, you do inspire me to get out the matrix sooner than next year. Don’t think of doing the videos for you tube but for your audience, and freestyle. I think it’s refreshing to listen to someone being honest and revealing their personality as you do. Long response but my introverted brain kept thinking of this message while you were rambling 😊
@jackvandean2 ай бұрын
Ah, the introverted brain can be quite the philosopher! Glad my rambling sparked some deep thoughts. Just remember, the only matrix you need to escape is the one with too many “what ifs” and not enough “let’s do this!”

It’s probably good to write down a topic. It’s funny because before making videos, it’s like i have a lot to say. Then when you film you feel like it’s rambling. So filming is an eye opener. And it feels like a chore if you have to think about it too much. But long term you need a basic formula for how you do your videos. That way you are not thinking about it all the time. For some reason when we learn something new it makes the mind work overtime trying to figure it out. I’ll coin it as the informational phase. 😂 Once we pass that the mind calms down and we can do a task on autopilot. With bits of learning here and there.
@jackvandeanАй бұрын
Thank you so much for your insight. You are right - because I don't have a structure (yet!!) my mind goes into overdrive. Maybe writing some things down, might take away already some of the stress. I am still in my first year of KZbin, so guess I am still in the informational phase ... So much still to learn, so much triggering the mind ... Autopilot not in sight .... working on it. Keep ypur good ideas coming !

Don't overthink your daily or future endeavours as a "Van-Roadie". Perhaps your neighbour is new to Van-Roadie life and was looking for safety in numbers but hasn't quite grasped the etiquette yet?! We have a little hand-driven washing machine for our smalls and it works a treat maybe that's something that gives you an option and cost saving. No matter what happens it's important to remember to be happy and safe on the road, keep rambling and savour each minute.

Haha, a hand-driven washing machine? That's one way to get your cardio in while doing laundry! Perfect for me!

I thought the bit where you described the guy pulling up right next to you in an otherwise empty field was hilarious. Like you, I hate confrontation and would just have moved but that is the beauty of van life, you can just drive away. Regarding video frequency: you and I are a similar age and I don't know about you but I was brought up to speak when I had something to say. Perhaps you could follow that schedule: record something when there is something to say and leave it if you don't? Also, just curious: you say you speak multiple languages so when these voices come to you at 2 in the morning with video ideas, etc, what language are they speaking?!
@jackvandean2 ай бұрын
Haha, right? Van life is all about dodging awkward moments! And if you are permanently on the road or living the "nomad life", they are aplenty. And yeah, those late-night ideas come in all sorts of languages- but mainly English

Hi Jack. What you commented about the person parking so close to you was tragic-comic. As far as I know, van lifers are usually friendly and group people and one of the reasons they try this style of life is meeting new people. So, I guess that is what happened there, the person was trying to make contact (or needed it)... You know, what is really unfortunate is that if someone, somehow gets to fool everybody into thinking they are someone that they are not in reality, the sad part is that people life the role, the fantasy, and not the real person. That is probably being totally lonely, afraid of what people might find out all the time. Oh, by the way, by coincidence, this week in a report I was working on, they mentioned a Belgium corporate group.
@jackvandean2 ай бұрын
I understand what you mean. But if you come and park on top of me, and then NOT engage or initiate a conversation and expect me to be the one - I find that weird / annoying. a famous Belgian , or just a Belgian in your corporate group chat ?
@renatoscutube2 ай бұрын
@@jackvandean So, you were expecting the person to approach you and the person was expecting that you to approach them, that's funny... : ) How about placing a sign on your van where it reads "Beware, anti-social person on board" It could scare away people (or the opposite, bring them closer thinking it is a joke)... About the Belgium corporation, is is called The Fruit Farm Group (TFFG), but I don't know whether it is well-known or not. No, it was not a chatroom or something like that, but a report was translating.

I have always assumed that the blogs i watch are trying to make money out of it, i have seen collaborating videos do quite well.
@keepitreal15472 ай бұрын
Collaboration videos & youtubers do so in the pure want & need to gain traction from eachother or one side. It's the biggest tell tail sign they're doing what they're doing, to solely try & make an income from YT. Unfortunately many will bend rules, buy views, buy subscribers, lie, cheat & not be genuine in doing so. People like Jack are a godsend on YT because most are only doing it for monetary gain & will do whatever to get such. Personally I don't follow those types anymore...I've had a belly full of their disingenuous self entitled ways.
