Time for Tea with Alice, Disability Support

Hi everyone 🌟
This is the first video in (hopefully) the series I’ll be doing where I speak with trainees on the programme with different disabilities, to see what their experiences was of getting support whilst on the STP. I spoke with Alice today, who’s a 2nd year trainee on the Respiratory and Sleep Science specialism! She has ADHD, depression, anxiety and OCD and we spoke about her experiences of getting a diagnosis, how it impacts her and how and what support she’s got in place 🌟
Alice is super open about this, in the video but also on her instagram/twitter (@adhdalice on both) and hopefully it will help current/future trainees feel more comfortable with getting the adjustments they need ☺️
Massive thank you to Alice for being my guinea pig! I really appreciate her taking the time to give more of an insight into a condition that has quite a lot of misconceptions surrounding it 🌟

hi Meg, I was wondering if you know when the STP applications will be open for 2022 or at least where this will be announced? I know its sometime in January and I just dont want to miss it! Thanks

Hi Illiana, sorry I can't be more useful - I'm not aware of the dates yet for the application! When they are released they'll go onto the applicant page of the School's website (nshcs.hee.nhs.uk/programmes/stp/applicants/) - it's always good to keep an eye out on their twitter account too!
