Time for Work

The Phalaenopsis are on the move.
Building the shelf for the kitchen window sill allows me to get all the Phalaenopsis orchids out of the grow room where the nights are getting too cold.

Bought mini phalaenopsis Whitney with terminal spike as well. It popped a pup among the roots, grew leaves among buds while flowering second time on side flowerstem and now (a week ago) popped a pup under old flowerstem near the base. If yours is half as unruly as mine it will keep you on your toes. And life exciting. 😊 Best of luck.

That certainly came out well! Amazing how many you can get into that one space. If the spike of the first one on the top left gets unruly, maybe plant a tall bamboo skewer close to it and if it is bendy enough, clip it to train downwards and thus a cascade of blooms in future?

If it has enough buds and the blooms are large enough, they will weigh it down and it will arch over on it's own.

Generel question: Does the window open/tilt to the outside? Over here windows open to the inside, which makes putting anything on window sills a pain in the you-know-what, if said window can't be tilted. Anyhow, fits perfectly! Nice addition. Maybe put the large one on the top shelf (third from left) to the far right? So that the leaves would only be in the way on one side. It might make a little more room for the others. Though I think it's working out great the way you have it set up now. That's 18 pots! Holy moly.

Yes - because of their shape, if the light is directional (like from a window), they are better sideways on so the light is more even over the whole plant.
