I figured it might be fun to capture an edit of a shorter episode via time lapse for people who enjoy this kind of nonsense, so here we go! Editing Criminally Overlooked Games 6.

I don’t think most people understand the insane amount of work it takes to produce high quality videos like this, especially regularly every two (and sometimes one) weeks. This is an awesome look at how the sack is made. Thanks for your hard work, Joe!

Even crappy, basic, video editing is tough and time consuming already. I've done very few times in my life just to say "nah, video editing isn't for me" LOL I truly admire those who like it! That's to say: yes, you're completely right. Probably most people have no idea how much work one has to put to make videos like Joe does.

Hey, Joe, an idea (in case you haven't done already. Maybe you have): how about a video where you describe your usual workflow? Covering topics like: do you make a script before? Do you record the footage for one episode then proceed to the editing process or you record multiple footages for multiple episodes and then you edit everything at once? Do you usually plan the episodes in its entirety (including the comments you make between games and the end skit) or those come later? I'm very into creative process, so if you don't mind sharing, I (and many others, I think) would appreciate it very much!

I always wondered if you were using a green screen to do the living room shots - I had a sneaking suspicion, what with "GAME SACK" being cut off by your head... but this confirms it! The trick with dropping game footage into the TV is slick, BTW. Most people don't know the level of effort it takes to make a high-quality video - well done! Also, I find it really interesting that you color grade your footage - that's an extra step I've dabbled in, but it's a black art that I apparently don't have the knack for, LOL.

I am nowhere near this level but just doing simple videos (that are you own work) takes time and patience, especially if you are nowhere near professional level. But once the video is done, you not only feel relieved but also a sense of accomplishment, happiness and you are proud of it. Thats the important thing here: Feeling proud of it. I cant even imagine the amount of effort, patience and time needed to do videos like Joe does, even if he is a professional (i remember him saying that he edits videos for a living in a convention some years ago, could be wrong tho). High levels of respect for his work either way.

I enjoy this too, as I find time-lapse fascinating...And it shows just how much work Joe (the workhorse) has done for us since the very beginning... thanks, dude. However... Maybe you could do a slowed down one, where you walk us through the making of one of your stop motion projects? Or even just a Sack episode that uses a little bit of stop motion? My nephew is an aspiring stop motion animator, and I would love to show him the MASTER honing his craft! People think editing takes a lot of time? Well... it does. But... try STOP MOTION! Wow, this is something. I’m flabbergasted by how you “blindly” put the audio first and then find your way on the video themselves that matches to what you said/images. Is there a lot of scrubbing going on again? Or you ‘see’ the audio forms around the last clip section you connected to the timeline? In any case, great to see the back stage where the craft is being done.
