The best thing about being 60° north is that you get long twilights throughout the year.

This is a cool comparison, I live in the tropics so we have 12 hours light and dark each day everyday :)

@Dovyeon idk. Nothing beats summer holidays with your friens when it is still kinda light at 23:30 and 03:00

@Dovyeon I noticed that when I went tenerife I know it isn't at the equator but it shocked me how quickly it became fully night back in scotland it takes like 90 minutes to get as dark as it gets which is reallu just navy blue in the summer

@@VaibhavSharma04 the thing that does get boring is the fact its mostly warm all year round, so you don't get to experience seasons fully.

@@XBGamerX20yeah, I think that 1 year old comment guy deleted his comment. Tbh i find these different sunset times, no sun, all day sun very cool. Very few people can experience that like folks living in longyerarbyen 😊

Oh ok, I have just realised - this is in Helsinki, I didn't realise that there was another Kontula in Finland. I saw one on the eastern coast bordering into western Russia and assumed that it was this one. Interesting to see the light come round though after 0030ish on the view.

No city in Finland borders western Russia
@2AKgym Жыл бұрын
@krishnaammini8298yeah it is. Western Russia refers to Slavic places in Russia where Russians are indigenous to. Such as Tver and everything south of it until Voronezh. No place in Finland borders western Russia. Finland is a very northern country, and the only parts of Russia that Finland borders are Northern Russia

Winter Sunrise 08:20 Sunset 16:20 Summer Sunrise 01:45 Sunset 22:55 Now guess my country by the following clues... Winter Sunrise 06:10 Sunset 18:10 Summer Sunrise 05:45 Sunset 18:35
Is the camera making the 22nd june night time actually look darker? I have researched this, and the sun doesn't sink more than 2.7 degrees below the horizon at the solstice peak. Yet it looks like the city night goes marginally out of civil twilight.
@zerohuntermh05406 жыл бұрын
Dancer CJ i though it actually sinks to 6 or 7 degree
@danielward65725 жыл бұрын
It will do absolutely, albeit unintentionally, as even the most advanced camera isn't nearly as good as the human eye.

@@zerohuntermh0540 I have just reread my response from over 2 years ago and yes you are correct. I think the sun dips to around near 7 degrees below the horizon at polar night at June solstice, so I have no idea what made me put 2.7 degrees. I wonder if I was referring to somewhere else farther North. The camera definitely looks darker though but I guess that makes sense as experiencing this first hand is different.

Oh there’s no difference where are you from?? In my country it’s more dramatic
@THEJOK3R194011 ай бұрын
@@kolyaursaki1466 Well it really depends on how far away or how close to the equator you live, the closer to the equator you live, the less axial tilt change and thus time change during the year you experience vs if you live further north (or south) you experience a more radical change in how many hours of you daylight you have depending if it's winter or summer. For me as i live in Sweden i experience long and dark days during the winter with around 6 or 7 hours of daylight during the darkest time of the year around December but at the same time i get to experience around 18 hours of daylight during June.
