@autopilot1175 жыл бұрын
@@Sef_Era there is such thing as flow of traffic. Speed limits are based off old vehicle engineering and road design. Not going with the flow of traffic can cause potential traffic jams and even worse accidents. It simple, just get out of the way.
@AbsurdAsparagus5 жыл бұрын
@@autopilot117 yeah its most important for everyone to be going the same speed. when everyone is moving as a semi unchanging blob of trafic it makes judging interactions with trafic easier. by going faster or slower you add complexity that can distract or reduce other drivers decision making speed. on top of that, you add interaction to the trafic by forcing people to go around you, or by going around other people. the more people interact with each other on the road [passing, cutting each other off, forcing people behind you to slowdown] the more dangerous it becomes. each instance of interaction is a potential accident.

I recently drove this road, what I found really neat about it, is you can pull out a compass and set it on your dash as you drive, it'll go absolutely nuts occasionally as you drive over magnetic ore deposits.
@BikingVikingHH2 жыл бұрын
But I’m sure the very low concentration or deposits you drove over tens of meters away at the closest were enough to spin around the compass, instead of the giant iron engine block a few feet from the compass. You people pretend like you know something about science with your made up stories, when you probably don’t even have a drivers license
@cddevelopment3632 жыл бұрын
@@BikingVikingHH here's the same phenomenon happening to a mountain hiker. It's pretty common for MAGNETIC ore deposits to affect compass readings. The difference of course being it's naturally magnetic properties, not it just being a hunk of iron in the ground... But I appreciate the tenacity and boldness to call out a total stranger for their anecdotal experience. I'm sure you're a really likeable person.

Having been trucking for some time I can tell you this video is of US highway 50 that technically goes from cali all the way to the east coast and it is called the loneliest road in America because of an article published in 1986... it is, however, not the loneliest road in America as far as traffic and noise based on distance travelled... that honor goes to Dalton highway in Alaska where it's mostly gravel, almost no stops to pull off into for a 100 miles at a shot and if you see a house or town, or hell another car you'd be freaking lucky as it only gets something like 200 cars a day that travel along it's 414 mile stretch... it is truly an eerie drive that makes you feel very isolated and worried you might break down as it may be hours or even into the next day before someone might come along lol... there is NOTHING for miles and miles on that road save for 3 small towns... truly an incredible drive... Lol at the start of the video Grey was being overtaken by pretty much everything but by the end he was driving at the same speed as all the other cars. Good work grey!

I don't understand how you managed to do this without talking to yourself, or apparently even so much as humming or muttering. If it were me I would be singing every song about America I knew (Sweet Home Alabama, Country Roads, Rocky Mountain High, Born in the USA, etc etc) EDIT: correction, just saw the main video and got to the "phwoar f*cking hell" part. As you were.

Yeah, he probably at least had the radio on for most of it and just edited it out of the video.

I can't speak for all the Europe but where I'm from you MUST use the rightmost lane unless you want to pass another car

Reminds me of my trips between Oregon and Texas, where I would avoid California and I10. Some very, very long and lonely stretches, but always something interesting and beautiful to see.
