Pretty rad to read the comments - I log in every once in a while. Thanks everybody. To answer: I don't think we won because we didn't have vocals. We were just there to play a piece that was made up of 4-6 songs we had written over 5 years at that point. We were also in video production, so we got the hook up on those prime camera angles. I still play drums, I think the guitarist plays in some metal bands and the bass player is a comedian. Ask questions and one day I might log in an reply

The fact that so many comments and replies still name Time Machine Modulus as "the most pretty good or not cringe at all" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by talent show success. Time Machine Modulus is less cringey than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the least cringey. No wonder they will think that Time Machine Modulus never did anything worthy of being called "cringe".
