I love time out, especially the quiet ones. I like to use that quiet time to reflect on past life events, to remember what this journey of faith is all about and to rework on habits that I have found to become my idols. I appreciate your family and your ministry and I am glad to hear that you are having a day of rest every week. It's definitely a blessed endeavor to embrace! I miss you all and pray that we would be able to visit soon! ❤

Finding the balance between work and rest is the exact thing I have been praying about the last couple of weeks. It is so hard, as you said, to not just keep going every single moment. Yet, when I do stop to rest, it is always a very good thing. We have been blessed by your music ministry, as well as by your practical principles of Christian living through the years. We were delighted when you shared about the importance of Sabbath rest - too often those of us involved in ministry are busiest on the very day that God gave us to rest. It's great that your family has set aside a day for time out. At the same time, there is only one true Sabbath day that God gave us at creation for worship, the one He told us to remember in the fourth commandment, the Sabbath Jesus and Christians kept for centuries after Jesus died and rose again, the seventh day Sabbath. But taking another day for rest apart from God's holy Sabbath is an excellent plan.
