Hey Tennelle, you should read Guardians of Ga'Hoole! It's a great book series similar to warriors or wings of fire, and it does not get enough love. You don't have to if you don't want to, but if you made a drawing a blank or two on it not only would it really help the fandom grow, it would also help with drawing birds. I'm sure you're great at drawing birds, I just don't see you draw them very often in that cartoony style of yours Edit: while I like the movie, it's really not as good as the books. Although I felt like the hatchling and the outcast speedran Coryn's character arc. He's very Mary Sue imo

I'm working on some worldbuilding for myself, and man, aren't furry-dominated magic worlds the best? Dias (My double head, time snek boi) is actually serving as a sort of time "god", who can see every major event from the past or future (For now, I might change that later :P ). Excellent video as always! For my fellow fanart-makers, I’m super excited to see your designs! If you’re struggling with ideas, I highly recommend going beyond “king cobra” or “rattlesnake” in your searches. Vine snakes, vipers (and even for vipers-bush vipers and gaboon vipers are very, very different!), sand boas, and dragonsnakes are super interesting places to start looking.

I have an idea redwood trees can have a special type of magic because they are so old and for the Phoenix there type of magic is fire but there can be a really rare type of Phoenix that has water magic or earth magic I think that would be cool! I really love the concept and if this is a book series I would SO read it I'm invested!!!

Interesting video and great art as always! Mentioning the non-magic user trope at the beginning caught my attention, since it’s one I’m using in my bigger story. Your reasoning for not using it was thought -provoking for me, and lead to interesting world-building decisions with the tree lore. Personally, I’m mainly using the trope as a look at what a main character, who doesn’t ever get magic (since most non-magic mains somehow get powers later on) would do in a magical world. Looking forward to the more drawing a blanks and hearing about your original story!

Can't wait to see where this idea goes! Sounds very cool! A suggestion on the humanoid being thing, maybe you could take insparation from early hominids and other early upright-walking apes. There are lots to choose from (Homo habilis, Paranthropus boisei, Australopithecus afarensis, ect.), and I haven't really ever seen something like that shown in fantasy.

What if all the creatures are born with a seed or a sapling which is a key to their magic. If the tree’s infected by something or burnt then the creature’s magic will be corrupted. Of course not all trees are related to a creature’s magic, otherwise someone who wished harm on a certain kind of magic bearers could burn all the trees in that kingdom to corrupt their magic. Just an idea that came into my mind when listening to this. This world is a very very interesting idea and I love the characters you created.

the prompt "time snake" reminded me of a book series "The Zodiac" where the lost zodiac Ochus is a snake who represents/controls time and watching this has inspired me to draw him I also love the concept for this world you are building out of the zodiac and their chosen element, and your character design is awesome

Hey Tennelle! I had a small idea for naming for these characters. Maybe you could go the Wings of Fire route and have the characters be named after their magic abilities. For example, *Past Magic* - Bygone - Epoch - Era - Span - Annal - Chronicle *Present Magic* - Flow (the name you used) - Eon - Current - Juncture - Extant - Voguish *Future Magic* - Prospective - Hereupon - Hence - Foresight - Imminent - Impending (Impend) I decided not to go too overboard, now that I have all these names i kinda want to make some Oc's...

I would die for these snakes and I barely know them lmao! I love antagonistic and/or morally gray found families so much. Like, have great friends to cause chaos with? Hell yeah! Also, I dunno if you'll ever see this Tennelle, but if you love fantasy animal books, I can thoroughly recommend Duncton Wood by William Horwood, if you've never heard of it! It's such a great, long trilogy to read, and it has great worldbuilding! And imo part of what makes it so great is that they're old books. Nothing like old fiction, am I right?

I hope this helps but with Wind Cona: Maybe do a sketch with tall legs, long muzzle and tail, . Shadow clan: the would be short but powerful cats. Buff cats. Idk about the tail . River clan can be average size cats with medium fur length. Thunder clan can be tall but wide at the same time.

So I very much agree with your take that it's not a good thing to have on background characters if you're not going to explore it.
