I have a similar obsession with mlp but Indians think that girly shows equals u a girl so nobody sees it much but I like it so much that twilight is like sometimes around me having fun and currently as a kid. One thing I could add to this is that art style in animation is not just how you draw a character. It's also how you make it move. In a studio environment there are character bibles you have to meticulously follow to stay on model (the expression sheets and turnarounds being part of it, both in 2D and 3D), but all acting decisions and how movement is handled can still be part of a recognizable artist's touch. Milt Kahl's head swaggles are one the most famous examples but ticks like these are much more common in the industry than you think.

I worked in the Game Development industry as a creature designer, Most of the time the stuff you state in this video is correct the idea when designing is what style you are going for, what would the character/creature will be doing, and how do you translate that in motion or design.

the second one in the thumbnail is kinda like my artstyle! I use a rectangle as a body, rectangles as arms and i make pointy claws, i make REALLY fluffy hair, i make super silly eyes and smol pupils(sometimes shapes), AND I ADD DETAIL!
