I did some research a long time ago in my youth. I'm now 69 years old, and I came across a strange little fact about the game they played on their gaming court as you call it. The game they played used an oddly-shaped ball that also varied in size the reason the ball was oddly shaped and varied in size was because the ball was the severed head of a vanquished enemy! The head was wrapped up in material. I'm not sure, but it was probably wet leather strips that were secured, and then the ball was left out to dry as the final outer surface. This is one game I sincerely hope that we as modern and sophisticated people never start the sport up again!!
