I too have a laundry mat story. I put my clothes, sheet and towels in to wash. I went out to sit in my car while the clothes were washing and fell asleep. About an hour later I woke up and went in to transfer my clothes to the dryers. Low and behold, someone had stolen all my clothes, sheets and towels. The next week I went back to the laundry mat to wash again and guess what?? There I found this lady wearing my clothes and washing my sheets and towels along with her other laundry. I was so mad. I approched her to claim my stuff but she denied she took my clothes and to avoid a fight I left. That cured me of ever taking my eyes off my laundry while being in a laundry mat. Your mixer is a beauty. I love the color. You sure have the sweetest husband!

This will show how different we all are. I wouldn’t have lifted a finger outside until the inside was where I wanted it. My first priority would have been kitchen, laundry and bathroom then livingroom, bedrooms and finally the outside starting with the porch/es. Gardening would have only started once all the aforementioned had been complete. You have a great attitude about it all and I have to commend you on that. Your glass is always half full and mine half empty and I so wish I could be more like you; relaxed and going with the flow and always looking so content and happy. All the best!
@lauramitchell67254 ай бұрын
I agree with both of you. I think because the porch only required elbow grease,it was more of an instant win amidst depressing surroundings. Since they have great weather most of the year and her favorite thing is the mountain views,it made a true respite as they started the renovations. She was also itching to start her garden while also being temporarily burnt out from renovating,so I get the pause. Hopefully Tim is now working on his mom’s bathroom behind the scenes and they’ll show us the final reveal. As much as I would love to see the kitchen next,I look at the living room and think,without plumbing or appliances,the walls,floors and ceiling would go fairly quickly and then the family could enjoy time together. Hard decisions!🤭

Seeing you vacuum plywood floors brings back memories of our 8 years of renovation. Spent an entire year without water in our makeshift kitchen set up in our family room. Had to bucket water from the laundry room to cook and do dishes. It just takes sacrifice over instant gratification. My husband did all the remodeling while working a full time job plus overtime so we paid for the remodeling as we progressed.

I loved when Tim broke that box down and then looked through it like he was looking through glasses. My husband died 16 years ago but I can absolutely imagine him doing that! Watching the two of you interact makes me smile. I LOVE your clothes and I wondered if you would be willing to tell us where you shop, if that's not too nosy. I just found your channel yesterday so I have seen very few of your outfits but I have already seen several that I would love to get. BTW, you do not live in the mountains of Virginia. I think you live in Paradise! You have an incredible view and I certainly can understand why you would want to sit down on the front porch and just stare out at the mountains around you. I am looking forward to seeing all the changes you will be making to your home. I live in Nashville and I am always aware that I might actually get the things I ordered or a thief may steal them off of my front stoop before I ever even see them. That amazes me because I truly do not understand why anyone would risk getting in trouble with the law to steal something that they may not even be able to use. And the person who stole your sons' clothes may not even be able to use them and I hope that is the case because it would be what the thief deserves. I'm sorry this happened to your family.

Don’t worry about buying your plant starts, a lot of people do, even the big channels that garden a lot do. I always did until this year. This year was my first year to make my own starts. I just told myself if they don’t make it then I will buy them but they made it and are doing so good so far. I think the trick is knowing when to start them and I won’t start them next year in the tiny cells, I had to transplant them twice. I will start them in a 2”x2” cell and transplant them outdoors. I started them in March and my last frost date is May 1st. So next year I will start them March 1st and harden them off the last week of April and then outside. You must start them in really good soil and with good lighting so they don’t reach for the light and get too leggy. I hope to have my first ripe Tom by July 4th. And I agree your house is a home, not a trailer. A trailer is something you pull behind your car/truck. And your house is way to big to pull behind a truck.

Hi Valarie, love your videos always excited to see more from you. You always makes the best out of your situation. I make banana pudding all the time and it comes out perfect but I don’t use cream cheese. You will need 1large box and 1 small box of banana cream instant pudding, 10 bananas, vanilla wafers, 1 16 oz and 1 12oz cool whip, 1 can condensed milk and 2 cups milk. Mix pudding, milk and condensed milk together. Add all the whipped topping. This is your base. To layer add pudding to dish first then add cookies upside down and continue. Use hand mixer. Important note: take cool whip out of freezer 30 minutes before you start. It must be cold. You will love this recipe, taste like ice cream. Enjoy!

You can take the seeds from your marigolds and just plant them in some soil. I have kept mine growing for years. When they die off just pull the seeds out. 😊plant them wherever you want.

Ms. Val when are you and Mr. Tim planning on putting a washer/dryer in your home?

Your garden is beautiful! I only have 5 tomato plants this year & my flowers, of course. Only 2 of us, so we'll have plenty of tomatoes. What a beautiful mixer! I think the sweetened condensed milk may of been too heavy? I don't know, but it looked delicious! Hugs from Indiana!❤

I make it the old fashioned way, making my pudding on the stove using the old recipe for vanilla pudding, layering cookies, banana and pudding, then using the leftover egg whites from the yolks used for the pudding I make 7 min frosting to put on top...no short cuts for very very good old fashioned banana pudding...

We have a brand new set. We just don't have enough water pressure to run the washer. Tim has a lot of plumbing work to do before we can have a washing machine or a dishwasher. 😃

Hey Valerie! The banana pudding looked pretty! I looked on Pinterest and noted the cool whip listed was 8 oz, a small container; also make sure you use instant pudding not the cook kind. I would just add another box of wafers to yours, fold in, and chill overnight. ❤️❤️❤️

I'm so glad you're enjoying your garden. When ours starts producing I so enjoy canning the tomatoes, freezing the okra and squash then place them in food savor bags (the kind where all the air is removed). I do the same with meats. As long as that seal isn't compromised everything stays good for a few years. I buy onions 50 lbs at a time. I chop, slice or wedge them and freeze them and use my food saver bags on most of them; the remaining ones I dehydrate them and they're good for years to come. Just add them to soups or stews and yum yum!! I, also, dehydrate peas, corn, green beans, and carrots. I buy rice in bulk and store it in glass jars. Stays good forever. Same with honey, dry beans and any canned goods that I canned. Tin can goods will last quite awhile but, will eventually spoil. Having a garden is so satisfying!! I don't use plastic containers. Ive found that it creates a strange "plastic" smell and taste...learned that the hard way!!😢 Our home is a 32x80 mobile home. We've been here 22 years. Love it!! It's just my husband and I but, we really enjoy all this space. We've added a 30x40 garage about 60 yards from the house. I'm forbidden to put anything in it!!😅😅 I have a 10x14 building that has my saws in it (I used to craft wood items). Hubby uses the garage for changing oil in the vehicles and storing his lawn mower and ancient tractor in. We're getting on in age (68), are retired and love our country home here in Alabama. Living our good ole country life!😊
