I don't think anyone told him to do this, I think he just does it naturally cause he's the oldest. Especially since the ones he tends to gather up the most are the younger members. A lot of caring for the younger people around you is naturally woven within our culture, so he probably doesn't even think twice about it.

I feel like in some ways Jin is more mature then Namjoon and I feel like Namjoon already has enough responsibility as a leader to also be in charge of that. I always feel Namjoon gets a lot of help from Jin when it comes to these type of things. I also feel Jin is the most perceptive of BTS he can always read a room so easily and he can always adapt to it and feel what the room needs or doesn't need. I respect that about him a lot. It is funny you said this, because in the most recent Run BTS episode Namjoon said himself that he feels that he is still immature. Although he is an awesome leader and can't be replaced as the leader he has also said that the other members also help him out a lot and clips like these is where you see how true that is. Jin knows when he needs to act a certain way and when he needs to be the older mature one. I agree with you, it is also one of the reasons I love Jin.

Jin has had that role from the beginning since he’s the oldest. This especially makes sense given how young JK, V, and Jimin were during the time leading up to (and following) their debut. He often talks about how he raised JK, who was only in middle school when he became a trainee. So he’s pretty much the dad of the group.

I remember at the Paris statium concert in June 2019 Jungkook jumped off stage to go to an army in a wheelchair. I think it was the end of the show and the members were already lining up on the main stage lift to go down and you could hear Jin shouting "JUNGKOOK-AHH" concerned, cause he could not see him on stage or in the crowd (the fans lost their chill and basically stormed at JK the minute he jumped in their midst)

My favorite moment of Jin collecting the babies will always be the moment in Bon Voyage when he leashed JK to himself so he can keep track of him, then clucked at JK to get him moving. I always go soft in that moment, it's just too precious. But what I love about Jin (and I'm OT7, so there are things about ALL of them that I love) is that while he openly portrays himself as the oldest maknae, and is goofy and silly on camera, he always, ALWAYS, keeps his responsibilities and manners in mind, and even when he's being chaotic. He still keeps track of the members, their whereabouts, and what they are/should be doing, and is always sacrificing himself to ensure they are comfortable, happy, and looking like their best selves for the camera.

seokjin has this saying where he refers to himself in the third person when the others are in need. he says "hyung" (older brother) will do it." so for example, if one of the members is injured and has restricted movements, jin will say, "don't worry, hyung will do it." its so endearing, and it also just shows how much he cares for the others, as well as just how much the others respect him in letting him take that role. much love guys

Jin is the oldest, he was already an adult while the youngest members were basically kids. When he says he raised them that’s no joke. Add to that the cultural aspect of being the oldest as a position of “authority” and being responsible for younger family or friends I think in just naturally comes with the territory. He could easily assert his “authority” but he doesn’t and I think that’s a testament to his gentle nature. The mood in BTS I think is very much due to Jin I believe.

Age and seniority are a big thing in korean culture. Jin being the eldest naturally carries with him a lot of responsibilities. As goofy as Jin acts, he is very responsible inside and he takes it upon himself to take care of the members without having to be asked. Watch videos on “hyung will do it”/ “namjin being the parents of the group”. You can see even Yoongi and namjoon want Jin to “baby” them sometimes and ask for affection from Jin. It’s the cutest.

He’s the oldest so this is naturally his role. Also, most people don’t know this but acts get fined if they don’t hit the stage by the deadline or if they fail to meet an interview without legal reason. So not only will they get fined if they’re not meeting their deadlines but they can also be responsible for their following acts being fined as well. Also, Jin is likely thinking of the other things they have to do after a show. They don’t leave the stage and just get on a bus and go home and ho to bed. They have to shower and pack everything up and put their costumes and things away and most of this is helped by staff so if they’re late, they’re making the staff late too. The aftershow procedure can take hours plus they have to commute either to hotels or a rented house and whine down once they get there which involves conversations with each other, the manager, security, etc.. sometimes they’re not getting to bed until 3 am. And then rise early for more work the following day. So the sooner they leave the stage the better but of course they also want yo show appreciation to ARMY so they members tend to linger or the adrenaline throws them off. But Jin definitely gets the job done. No one works harder than BTS for their fans

Awe this is so touching and cute AND hilarious...Jin just naturally takes on the role I feel since he is the oldest and feels a sense of responsibility...but of course, there is footage out there of him being just as goofy and needing to be reeled in by other members! Lol he balances it all well. I feel he isn't mean or anything, he can be stern and keeps track of timing and such, especially when he knows they are on camera like at award shows or events...he always seems to think about the group's image and being a good example for the members and others.
