Most accidents probably happen when we get tired and not as focused. Like you said, Cutting wood is something you have to do and learn from. All the safety equipment in the world can't teach you how to cut wood. Not saying safety equip. is not important but that common sense and good techniques and experience will keep you safe generally. How many cord of wood will you need for heating or do you sell some of it? Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin

It would take 6 full cords (+) to heat the house for the winter. I only split for myself and friends.

Did you put a longer bar on? Or just time to replace due to normal wear and tear. ?

The old one is fairly worn out. Replaced with the same size.
