Love the close-ups of the different feet - in the video and in additional pop-up pictures. Nice explanations of purpose for each foot as well as additional pop-up comments in the editing. Ha! I must say that it was a little hard to believe that Mary hadn't yet learned from her mother or others that a walking foot had feed dogs that helped pull the top fabric through too along with the regular feed dogs for the bottom fabric. Or maybe that was just to add to the drama of the video? Either way, it did clarify the mechanics of a walking foot for those who may not have known its purpose. I hope you have Pam Mahshie visit for another session. You two worked well together on this one. Thanks!

Mary: I just watched your 2013 QuiltCon Lecture (courtesy of Craftsy). Very nice! Thanks for posting sewing/quilting basics on KZbin. Although I know most of what you're teaching I know there are those who are just getting started. These videos are also a good refresher for me. Thanks again.

while it was informative it would have been great to see you actually demonstrating how the feet work. A question what is the brand of that sewing machine you have there as it looks very much like a machine I was looking at buying here in Australia. thanks

Emanuela Davis Brother sewing machines are identical to babylock sewing machines. eg Mary's babylock is very similar if not the exact same of the innovis 610. I heard Babylock sewing machines are made by brother which would explain their similarity.

I'm from NZ and we can't get babylock here. but I heard brother bought out babylock or something like that. so I have more confidence in the Brother sewing machines now. I bought a Brother VQ3000 and I'm sure it's identical to the babylock Crescendo I think it was...With the laser pen.

+Cheryl Pearson my Brother also has that 'special' walking foot in the video that plugs into the machine. I only got it a couple months ago and so far I love it!

+Cheryl Pearson Your right, the Babylock Crescendo is exactly identical to your Brother VQ3000 with the laser pen and digital walking foot. Are you enjoying your beautiful sewing machine?
