What if one person in the couple has an EU non spanish citizenship and they both live in a non EU country? Does the process change somehow and could the timelines for the non EU spouse residency and eventual citinzeship be shorter?
@MillennialsWithMoney5 күн бұрын
In such a case it’s much more straight forward (in theory), the EU citizen can register as a resident in Spain with minimal bureaucracy, and the non-EU citizen can apply for residency through the family reunification visa. I have a podcast episode being released this week where the guest and their family did this 😊 hope this helps!

Couple questions. What if we don't have traditional "passive income" from rental or digital jobs but we have enough in savings/bank/investment accounts to cover us for a few years - are we eligible to apply for the NLV without the fear of being rejected? Are we able to start a family business after the 1st year?

@@jmarte6089 thanks for watching! Marina addressed the first point, as long as it can be accredited then it should be good. For the second, it’s possible but would require changing visa type and needs a detailed business plan and is a complicated application process. It’s best to speak to a lawyer in both cases to ensure you do things correctly. Hope this helps!

@ what’s it mean being accredited? If it means being able to be traced to the financial institutions with statements and such, then yes. All of that of that is verifiable.
@MillennialsWithMoney4 күн бұрын
@@jmarte6089 yes some way of being able to document it. Bank statements in the case of savings, and in the case of investments maybe either statements or tax returns to show the income is recurring

@@MillennialsWithMoney we reinvest the dividends so it wouldn’t show on tax returns. I’ll set up a conference with them to get detailed info. Thanks for the clarifications

you did not highlight the financial requiremnt for renewal. it is double eprem for years 2and3 and again for 4and5.eprem financial requirement is why i have not moved to Spain yet.i cannot afford the financial requirement and feel it is too high compared to the suspected cost of living in Spain for the duration of the nlv process

portugal is 9,000 euro per year,why is Spain 28,000?
@MillennialsWithMoney4 күн бұрын
For a renewal it's double the amount of the initial application (i.e. 28k x 2 = 57k), and double the amount for each dependent too (i.e. 7k x 2 = 14k), as the renewal is valid for two years
