In this video, I fill some raised beds with our homemade compost generated by the chicken church setup. This system has been producing incredible quantities of compost. As I keep adding raised beds and expanding the garden, this compost is the perfect material to fill them. Excited for what this growing season has to offer.

One thing I figured out with deer is that they don't tend to see wire fences or some netting and will go right through it causing damage. However if I used some colored duct tape and made little flags, a couple inches long, they would see it and not damage it as much. Might help with your almost invisible net as well.

This reminded me that I need to clean out my chicken coops in the next thaw we get.

Urea plan reminds me of grandmas place that had an outhouse, so the boys made daily urea deposits right outside of porch

I recently found your channel and like it. I love the West Virginia area also. I'm from the Pittsburgh area. If I ever move from Alaska, West Virginia would be one of very few places I would consider.

Of course the traditional way to stop strawberries going slimy is to have a thick mulch of straw (hence the name) to keep them well clear of the soil, as you’ve started. Electric netting around your garden beds will help deter the deer!

I recommend your daily urea deposit come from the ground level rather than from the height of the deck level. Minimize the Splash Factor, ya know...

@@HarrisonCountyStudio As long as they are 24-7 on the fence. In my area the deer avoid the times the dogs are around.

@RedToolHouse I always forget because I live up on a main road so mine stay indoors. Too many neighbors ended up with flat cats.

Don't lie Troy, it's not an urea "experiment". You just enjoy peeing off the deck, I get it, what guy wouldn't? What I don't get is why you want everyone watching you from the county road? That's a little weird... 😂

Yes, I always joke that I didn’t buy this property and go through all of this work building a homestead if I couldn’t pre where I want to. I usually wait until county road traffic has passed. It is a dead end, gravel road so the track is minimal at best.
