Oh well all times are amazing. The music being composed today is just awesome if you know where to look. Travelling is cheap and easy. We are at the verge of VR meetings all over the world. When this is long gone we will have nostalgia for this as well. For the old KZbin threads of comments, for the annoying smartphones and bad batteries, for bad mobile internet, for things that now we take for granted. Today is always the past for me.

February '78 myself. I know we grew up through the 80's but don't remember too much because our brains were still developing as kids, and I remember the 90's as clear as day. It's music such as this that triggers those back memories from the 80's. At least that's how I see it.

@Richard James I was born in 1974 and I can honestly say that the 1980s couldn’t have been a better time to be a kid. You’re right about everything going to crap after 2000, especially after 9/11. Now, there’s an authoritarian mindset trying to force people to think one way or another just to fit into a beehive community. I didn’t grow up that way and I’m not living that way now or ever.

80s, 90s and early 2000s the best era ever, technology was not so advanced, great times
@TheReaverOfDarkness2 жыл бұрын
And yet the defining theme of the era was awe at how advanced our technology was. In losing that awe, as well as in using up the easy science that had been just sitting around waiting, ignored by the people before it, we entered a new era of technological apathy and the technology hasn't advanced very quickly since then, aside from computers, anyway. I feel like the last quarter of the 20th century was the first time we got to revel in a high tech world.

I remember a few of these commercials and PSA's quite vividly, many more just vaguely, and it feels so nice even if they're just adverts. That's the thing about 80's commercials - they were often restrained, candid, comforting, a little goofy, and portrayed a slice of the average life. Maybe that's why it works so well with the song.

It was because they made it with coconut oil, you can do it at home, all you need is a small (or large)pot with a lid, coconut oil, real butter and popcorn kernels. High temp, add the ingredients together, enough to make a thin layer of seed evenly spread out in the pan, put the lid on once the first few kernels pop, hold lid down with one hand and move the pot back and forth rapidly over the heat source, once the popping slows of enough pops to force the lid off pour the corn in a big bowl add salt to taste.
@ShimmyD-u7g9 ай бұрын
@@hendo337 We used to make popcorn at home this way, kettle over a stove with oil, and then added the melted butter overtop after it was done. It was good, but still not like movie popcorn. What made movie popcorn good was the electric kettle that we used. It was nicely "seasoned". And we would use a big scoop of popcorn "butter", the yellow magic stuff, probably was coconut oil based with butter "flavor". The key ingredient though was the added butter oil. Theaters still do this, seems the same to me as it was in the old days. That said the stuff I make at home is often better than theater popcorn. I do it now in a glass container with an opening that is covered by a rubber piece that is made for popcorn making in the microwave.. I first put in some vege based butter first, about a TB as it doesn't burn like real butter does. Once popped I sprinkle on the butter flavored "movie theater" popcorn oil you can get at the stores. Salt to taste, it's really good.

Timecop1983, and Trevor Something (if you both are reading this), I think you created not only one of the best New Retro Wave songs, but it is also an excellent song in its own right regardless of whatever genre a person wants to categorize it under. I think Timecop1983 and Trevor Something should make another song together. Seriously, Trevor Something has a very cool singing voice, and Timecop1983 makes catchy and great beats. The pair are wonderful together. The only other artists missing from the retro 80's genre that I really like is Dana Jean Phoenix, and Com Truise. Yea, all 4 of you should make an album together. I have to confess that I can't get through this video without crying as it affects me so much that an era like the 80s will sadly never come again and that all we're left with are fragments of precious memories of a time that will FOREVER remain missed by those who experienced it in every possible way . This was the single most unique time where everything had a fine balance and was far more Humane compared to anything now (i.e. no Social Networks, Smart Phones, Internet and little technical gadgets to play with). People would go on Holidays and talk about how great there experiences were to friends and families and showing photographs of where they went, children enjoying School Holidays and outing trips, staying over one another's house, renting or going to the movies etc. All this and so much more made it a sense of adventure for itself for many to recall over and over. Such a shame that these current times have done nothing but make everything feel so lame and cheap not mention mold people today as nothing than plastic gimmick talkers with such annoying personalities and flat speech talk. At least in the 80s people were far more real in terms of communication and appreciating each other on a longer scale than compared to how it is now. 80s, I will always Miss for Life 😢🙏

I'm an 80s kid.. this song reminds me of that one special girl I met when I was down and by my lonesome at the one place where I could warp my reality and escape for a while.. the local arcade at Fashion Island. I can see you standing there, sweater and brunette hair. We talked about what I can't recall.. and suddenly I wasn't so alone, after all. I remember you gave me a hug goodbye.. I never knew your name, but you were like an angel to me that day.. you kind of saved me in a way, that simple gesture of affection, compassion. I wish I could thank you, but without knowing who you were, it's likely our paths will never cross again, and perhaps that's all it was meant to be, but.. you kind of saved me, a pure and innocent act of kindness. I wish you all the best, and for you never to lose yourself no matter what you encounter on the winding paths of life. Stay golden, unknown Angel..

This song speaks beauty. It is soothing to my mind and relaxing to my body. It just reminds you of those good times that are absent today :). Thank you for the beautiful song.

The world will never again experience a decade like the 80s.. the lighting of the sun was softer, the world wasnt jaded, possibilities were endless, life was easy, there wasnt as much violence, anger, destruction, or suffering, and everybody just had fun. Im lucky enough to be born in 83, and i remember what life was like back then..
