alright so apparently the salmon hat isn’t as rare as I thought. It use to be a crafting recipe but was removed for some reason and a lot of people (including myself lol) crafted them and left them in a chest and forgot about them. Another COMING SOON item is the blaze hat, but the wiki says you can get it from a blaze drop. The fishing items are also more common than I had thought. It seems a lot of people just kept them in chests and forgot about them lol

@@Nico-wf1pj Its because a thing called Stack overflow and because they are on different versions. Hypixel has gone to a state where you can play from any version from 1.8 and 1.14.4. Java doesnt like that. The problem is that in newer versions there are bug fixes, new items, new features etc. that are not in the older versions. Thats why Hypixel had to reunite the newer to the older, so there isnt anything from the newer versions (concrete, banners...). Just holding an illegal item can freak out the plugins that force the youngest item to disable. The program then doesnt know what to do, does almost everything just to get out of that situation. And the server then dies, because of too many things happening. Sorry for the long comment.

My theory with the null stone/banner is that it actually is a “null” item of some sort. This means that somewhere in its data, a null character can be found. It seems that Minecraft likely stores a lot of info as null-terminated strings. These strings are being ended prematurely by the null item, causing all sorts of odd effects, like rendering bugs, and chest slots being unable to be selected.

From my knowledge involving rendering and Minecraft the banners are likely causing some sort of problem involving OpenGL. It likely looks for the model and as a failsafe so the game doesn't crash it uses either a null model or model ID 0 which happens to render all models either because it's some sort of filter that matches everything or it is the same ID for one of the render layers.

After looking at the banner crash logs I realize why it crashes. Remember how the banner is a null stone object? The pointer to stone is null (0), so the banner is a null stone object in Hypixel. When you pick up the banner, it loads into the game memory as a null object, then the game reads the null object. Games hate reading null objects. The game crashes displaying an exception to null pointers (a NullPointerException in Java) which is fatal. When the object is loaded in the server, it doesn't crash, but instead stops reading slots because of a null pointer. I dont know how the Minecraft servers are hosted, but it probably isn't on Java so no crash.

we all do basically if you don't know how to get it: Make two *maps* (not mals) and go to the hub. Look up, then open both the maps. Now go to the weaponsmith. Open his menu, then close out of it. One of your maps becomes "null".
