Timeguard TRT037N Programming Instructions

This is the most user unfriendly thermostat programmer that I have ever had the misfortune to have in my house. I have had many different boilers and thermostats over the last 40 years and have never had one I hated as much as I hate this one. It is so awful to set that you're only going to ever want to do it once, no chance of being able to alter it for colder weather. Once you have set it up it will regularly lose the ability to communicate with the transmitter. This will either mean you get no heat or that your heating will run continuously and will not turn off. This has just happened to me with my heating reaching 25.5°C. It's taken me the day to work out why we're all so hot. Honestly, Timeguard, Business and go back to the drawing board. If I wasn't moving out I would be binning it and getting something different.

Hi Sarah, if you contact the technical team they would be happy to guide you through changing the temperature of a programme to suit different seasons of the year, however usually you would only need one unless you are away from the home for a considerable a mount of time to stop pipes from freezing. if the communication between the transmitter and receiver are not communicating well this indicates that the receiver is either too far away from the transmitter, there are two many walls separating the two pieces or something running on a similar frequency is delaying or stopping communication between the two devices.

You are not alone. The instructions are so confusing. It should not be this hard to use a heater .

How the hell you turn the peograms off. I dont want ajy programs I want to set it at 19 degrees all the time, then if I want just press the buttons and take it up to 21 degrees , when I want to and not when a program is due to come on .

my timer in my old flat was so simple it had 3 programmable time periods for the day each with an on time and an off time.. so.. On at 5am/off at 7am, then on at 12pm off at 12pm..which means it stayed off ( as i'm out at work), then on at 6pm off at 10pm (during the evenings i come home to a nice warm flat) simple as that..then you had constantly on mode where you manually turned it on for however long you feel then you switch it off... but this garbage is something else. the A/M button how do you know when its in manaul or automatic, what is the Learn button is that Auto? Total waste of time

Hi Peter, if you look at page 3 of the manual it states that A = Auto and M=Manual which will have a blue light status to show it is in manual mode... you can also set up the device to work in the same manner as you have described. Please contact the support team if you are still facing issues.

Absolute pile of junk! Why have it so you have to use all the programmable periods through your the day? Far more efficient and practical to have the option of using the programmable periods or to use the stat as a standalone feature! Almost like you want us to pump all our money into energy bills. And the fact you almost need an IQ of 1000 to sift through all the unnecessary jargon to set these periods. Safe to say this products going in the bin and a good old mechanical stat going in it’s place
