Instead of using a battery, use a powerbank with 2A output and connect it with the micro usb port of the motor. I am using a 25000maH powerbank connected to it and never run out of power. I attached the powerbank with Self-adhesive Velcro tape on the top of the motor so it can be removed either.

Yes as long as your use the motor controller with the appropriate cable to control your camera.

If you use it at night with long exposures, will the slider stop moving during the shots and only move between the shots?

If you are using the motor to fire the camera, then yes, the camera will be moved, the camera will then be triggered and then it will move again. In order to do the long exposure, set the camera on bulb setting so that the slider motor is controlling the shutter! For this example time lapse, I was using the camera on aperture priority - which is NOT recommended for a good time lapse! However, during daylight, you can't using the bulb setting unless you are using a strong ND filter such as an ND 9 or 10. The reason for this is the fact when using bulb, the shortest exposure is a second or two! Let me know if this answers your question!

@@TheFotobug Great! What's the longest duration it can do? Can it do e.g. a 10 hour timelapse with 1 shot a minute for 600 shots?

@@veryboringname. That’s a great question! I really don’t have a good answer for you as it would depend upon the battery that you’re using. We have never used the slider for that long a time I would believe that the battery should last that long and if it does yes it’s fully capable I’m doing a time lapse like that. To be sure my suggestion would be to get a battery with more milliamp hours which you can purchase from Amazon.
