Nobody had lived there for at least 20 years. It just stood there, getting more and more rotten inside, because of a hole in the roof. Remember the man in the red t-shirt on the ATV driving us with the roof tiles? That’s the previous owner 😊 He has been so helpful. We had tea with him and his wife on New Years. Everyone in the neighborhood nearby have been so positive that we have saved this little house ❤️ All the best, Annie

Just an after thought but it might have been a good idea to have put down a vapour barrier under the main floor. Moisture from the ground will eventually rot the wood.

Yes, that makes sense. We chose not to, because we wanted to build the house as natural (minimal plastic) as possible. So I dug pretty deep, to have air under. Love, Annie

It's wood fibre. The mice are many right now. I'm just editing a video about it. We started mouse proofing in our latest video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3KbdH2biMqrfpI Actually I don't know if they are, probably, I'm hoping not, but they probably are... It's nice and cosy to nest in, no glass 😅

I would be interested to know how much value you added to the place if you were to sell it. Would it be more than you paid for the materials for the rebuild. If you were to do this as a business would it make money?

This is a very good question. My gut feeling is telling me the answer is no 😄 We paid extra to get as natural materials as possible, lige e.g. the insulation was double the price of normal insulation. It would have to be the right buyer who wanted to pay extra for that kind of values we put in. It is very personalized. If we built for others, we may also have had to consider e.g. wheel chair entrance, and the stairs are no where near approved for that. So it's a whole different project :) Please ask again, if I didn't answer your question... I don't know right now about the value of the house, and the money we spent all in all. Lots of love, Annie
