That was very well done and the layout for a surfer is epic. I had a 1970 Datsun in San Diego that I tricked out for surfing and scuba diving. I loved that truck. But I really like that Toyota Van.

Lads, this is an epic build! I recently bought the same model van to do a similar refit, and this vid has given me the answers to some of the more technical things I've been struggling with...legends

By far one of the most enjoyable videos I've ever seen on KZbin. Never got that feeling that's in between jealousy and gladness (which is really good by the way) so strong. This is the thing I want to do the most: prepare a camper and hit the road. Congratulations for that flawlessly beautiful conversion and thank you very much for the video. Really high quality indeed!!! Regards from Argentina!!!

@Obliv699 жыл бұрын
low roof vans still work well, im currently building one with a full size double bed (2m long X full width of van) that converts into a U shaped seating area around the back door during daytime, i can sit in it fine but you cant stand up in em. i guess it depends what you want, one day ill get a pop top for it but i dont really go camping to spend all day in the back of a van. im out doing things, and only in the back after dinner when i chill out before converting to bed. having a big comfy bed was #1 priority for me so i also used high density foam (expensive but really nice) why make one with a cramped little bed? if your going to sleep in it you want it to be comfy all night every night.

What do you have running the electrics? Looks like maybe a solar controller on the wall opposite the side door? Where did you put your house battery if you have one? Nice conversion, we have a SuperCustom, low roof and standard LWB but the 4WD makes up for it. thanks, Megan
@biltongFTB9 жыл бұрын

Hi, are you able to get into the engine compartment without having to move furniture around? In my Hiace I have to lift/roll back both the driver (front left) and middle seat, and I don't see how I would be able to lift my seats if I had your setup.

Awesome work on the build. I also have a 95 Commuter that I am about to turn in to a camper to drive around Aus. Just wondering how you have secured the awning?
@biltongFTB8 жыл бұрын
+cochee15 Cheers and good luck on the build. I secured 4 bolts in the gutter above the sliding door then the eyelets of a tarp from bunnings slot straight over them. Some poles and ropes from BCF tightens it all up and works pretty well.
@steverowe97318 жыл бұрын
+biltongFTB hi got a hiace lwb recently and desperate for an awning, can you explain further? how does tarp stop from flying off the bolts in the gutter?
@biltongFTB8 жыл бұрын
