Saw it here in the SF Bay area! So cool, my first comet that I've seen!

Awesome! Congrats on your first comet, it's definitely a good one. Hopefully there will be more coming our way soon.

I'm heading out now to try and get some shots. We tried last night but a little cloud cover got in our way.

So many questions: Camera? Lens. F stop ? Duration? Total # frames? Stacking? Software? ❤
@Naztronomy2 ай бұрын
Good questions! I used a Canon T2i with Samyang 135mm lens, f/2.8, ISO-200, 673 frames in total. This is half an hour compressed to half a minute. The length of each exposure differed from 0.8 sec to 6 secs as the sky got darker. I didn't do any stacking but I adjusted the exposure and contrast in Lightroom. I also have images from my small refractor that I'm hoping to stack but I don't know how well that will go.

@@Naztronomy Do you shoot in Av mode ?
@Naztronomy2 ай бұрын
@@elbot_5616 I shoot in Manual mode. My lens is a manual lens so AV mode won't really work, it'll say the aperture is F00 or something and not be able to adjust it. But I think it'll adjust the time (not 100% sure).

@@Naztronomy thank you, so you change the exposure time manually? How do you choose what time you shoot with ?

Very odd, other time lapse videos of comets show the stars moving along with it. In this one, stars are still.
@Naztronomy2 ай бұрын
The stars are definitely moving in this timelapse as well. The trees in the horizon are standing still though.
