This is pretty much spot on. Every time you make a change to the camera scripts, you need to replay it in-game to make sure you get it how you imagined. It's very tedious and there's a lot of back and forth, but the end result is always worth it. It's not just camera scripts either, you need to spend a lot of time going through the speech files to find ones that suit the cutscene. And there's even more work if you want to have the camera match the music you pick. There's so much planning involved and so much work you don't see that goes into just one cinematic of this level, which makes it even more amazing that Gramantio can keep pumping them out like crazy

And not to mention that this is just pure cinematic, in a mission there's a whole lot more things that we should reconsider while making the cinematic so that it doesn't affect the mission itself, and there's also Outro, Mid-Cine which make things a million times complicated at times But as you said it, as long as i do it just like a hobby, i just can't get enough of it, its really a bitter-sweet feeling making this stuff xD

This is actually somewhat a tutorial for me on how to use world builder and I like how the cutscene looked like the Chinese version of the Generals USA vs GLA standoff in Mission 1.

Only 4 hours for a cinematic is pretty impressive. I usually need over 12 hours for my AOD/AOA maps + some extra hours if it contains map.ini and cutscenes. Cutscenes are just such a pain to do in this game, especially in COOP missions where you are even more limited with camera scripts!
@gramantio25862 ай бұрын
Hey i meant, making a fully functional map for 12 hours is even more impressive, 1/3 of that time is literally just me making the cinematic and map :D

Heya Gram! Great tutorial; have always been curious towards the production process of these cinematics. On another note, have you ever tried making a custom shellmap like those used in the main menu? It would be awesome to see what creative scenes you can make on a loop, hehe Anyways, love the stuff!
@gramantio2586Ай бұрын
There's 1 shellmap i made with the theme of christmas, it's available in CNCLabs if you're curious As for other scenario, hmm.. I might make smth sweet for zero hour 22nd anniversary :P

As someone who is trying to learn cinematics for red alert 3 (ik different, but they use similar if not the same scripts) for my reverse campagin (normal campagin, but the player plays the enemy from the original mission) I wish to see the how the camera works, as ik scripting is a pain in the ass sometimes, tho red alert 3 is simple for that because you dont need to close the game every time when you want to watch the cutsceen.

man i really need that file you are using for Cutscene unit quotes, were did you get it ? and great job, you are really talented
@musaalt40752 ай бұрын
In 3:22 why don't you use flag or hunt scripts these scripts will only attack random snd if you fo this it will attack the closer one Because if you do this this will counts as a move attack more than guard However these arrows will go executive exactly and in the end it will be stop and start attacking enemies wherever they are
@gramantio25862 ай бұрын
There's a lot of randomness when using Hunt script, there's nothing wrong with it, i just want my cinematic to run in a controlled manner

why did you remove the emp rockets from the andro cannon ? it was nice man
@gramantio2586Ай бұрын
Not just from Andro Cannon, i remove EMP Rockets entirely from the United Factions gamemode One of the top reason for it is because this thing is highly toxic gameplay, if the enemy has it then the map can became way to difficult but if the player has it defending became so easy and uninteresting, also aircrafts for the most part were useless and not worth spending because of it Soo yeah.. In my opinion, EMP missiles just doesn't belong here

@@gramantio2586 This can be like china mission 2. Where u have to defend for 5-10 min and after that the map expends to destroy gla bases with reinforcement arriving or just the map expends
