The weight of the anchor is 18 ton. The video is from a pre-lay mooring system for an oil rig in the North Sea.
Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels are mainly built to handle anchors for oil rigs, tow them to location, and use them to secure the rigs in place. Many of these vessels are designed to meet the harsh conditions of the North Sea. hey also provide towing assistance during tanker loading, deepwater anchor handling, and towing of threatening objects.
Skandi Vega is a large and powerful vessel designed for deepwater anchor handling during demanding environmental conditions.
The Bollard pull is 350 ton and the winches can pull 500 ton.
The Ship is 110 meters long and the Breadth is 24 meters and can room 88 persons

The vessel is mostly operating in The North Sea!

full tour please including accommodation engine room etc please , are you 4 week on 4 week off , as i use to work for viking, offshore marine ,zapata gulf marine bugge many yrs ago , im 60 now prob about 80s and 90 s i was anchor handling in the north sea , what a difference tech makes to the job , good video.
