Stumbled on this by accident, and am really glad I did. I grew up in Hereford, and this is a brilliant way to bring its history to life. Just wanted to thank you for the hard work you obviously put into this. You just earned a like and a sub - you deserve more!

A great vid of 18th Century Hereford, a time period when Hereford was probably at one of it's lowest points. The importance of the City on the border with Wales had all but disappeared, by the mid 1700's the great Castle which had been described to have been on par with Windsor in it's size and strength had all but gone and lay in ruins, it's stone being robbed away and used in other buildings around the City and the author of Robinson Crusoe Daniel Defoe in his 1724 book "A Tour Through The Whole Island of Great Britain" literally described Hereford as a sprawling, filthy dirty City that flooded a lot, it was not a nice place...I Would love to see a vid to see the changes the City HAD to make in the 19th & 20th Centuries.

I think it's such a shame that we weren't able to retain some part of the city gates, perhaps modified to be suitable for modern life. When I visited York recently, I felt that leaving the city walls (seemingly) mostly in-tact really enhanced the character of the city. Nodding to the old while also embracing the new.
