It's impressive that white dwarfs post-red giant phase cool down really quick and when it becomes older, the white dwarf cool down more slowy than before. (Sorry if i mistake a word i'm still not really fluent at english)
@its_jocel35808 ай бұрын
Bro. White dwarf coolds down like billions, trillions, quadrillions and quintillion of years. U cant say its quick.
@moisesmoreira66458 ай бұрын
Yes, but the speed of cooling depends from the age and composition of the white dwarf, that on the video
@nilnull54578 ай бұрын
Black body radiation rates are highly dependent on temperature, the lower the temperature the slower is the cooling rate
@moisesmoreira66458 ай бұрын
@@nilnull5457thanks for explaining
@vladtepes45264 ай бұрын
@@moisesmoreira6645 Also more massive white dwarfs cool down slower because of smaller radius and surface - higher degenerate electron gas pressure therefore higher density is needed to counteract gravity.

1 teaspoon of white dwarf is over 5.5 tons.. But it would be a solid as Diamond since they were composed of Carbons as they cooldown.. If i want a Ring that has a diamond from a Blackdwarf that small grain of Diamond would be still heavy as 1 ton

Hey @AstroCatz , i want to make my own star system but idk the luminosity and all the calculators demand variables i dont know about (and cannot calculate, such as magnitude) These are the main variables for this (made-up) star, based partly on sigma draconis Mass: 0.78 sun Temp: 5012 K Distance: ~35 light years from earth

This is the correct formula for the luminosity of a star: L = (T/5778)^4 * (R/695700)^2 L being the star's luminosity in solar luminosities, T being the star's temperature in Kelvin, and R being the star's radius in kilometers. Notice how the star's mass doesn't affect its luminosity?

It's sad how the sun will beat the shit outta of the earth when it turns into a red giant
@messier83798 ай бұрын
Our Earth has 90% chance of survival when Sun's started to Expand...the inner planets orbit would also expand at slow phase it theoritically put Earth at 3AU to 4AU distant at late Red Giant phase...when Sun had reached its maximum size as Red Giant our Earth would be far enough to not consumed by it.. But theres also some planets that survived their Parent star Red giant phase like the two planets called Kepler70b and 70c but they were once Gas Giants..
