I’ve seen Starrcade 1990 reviewed by the wrestling channel Wrestle Me on KZbin (Wrestle Me is my favourite wrestling channel) and I recommend watching it as the card is so bad it’s funny and the Wrestle Me guys doing their commentary are brilliant as they’re so funny as their English got a great sense of humour and do it better than any American wrestling KZbinr. Don’t get me wrong there are some good American KZbinrs who have their funny moments but when it comes to comedy Americans just aren’t very funny like the Germans and I’ve heard Germans try to be funny (I mean in German comedy clubs not American comedy clubs speaking English), it’s just the English are the best at comedy, actually all British are very funny and more so than Americans it’s just the English are still the funniest out of the British. I remember seeing Starrcade 90 as WCW was on German satellite tv back in the day (thought the PPVs we didn’t have to pay for we got them for free just like the WWF PPVs but WWF was on the English channels only and in English but then again so was WCW 😂)

I'm only two hours into this video and it makes me think. What would the mid and late 90s have been like if WCW had competent management through these years. Would we have gotten the Monday Night Wars? Would we have gotten Stone Cold and the Rock? Would there have been the NWO? Would there have been solid competition for years to come?
@KHayes666

By February of 1990 they were getting close to WWF ratings if not neck and neck. Had Flair, Kevin, Jim and talent like Sting, The Midnights and Luger went to Jack Pietrich and said "get Herd the hell out of here" and Jack listened, they might have had a chance. I hate to say it but a guy like Eric Bischoff who, love him or hate him, brought in the cruiserweights, jump started the nWo and (like Kip Frye) didn't penny pinch like Herd, Ole & Watts, might have taken WCW in 1991 beyond where WWF was when their ratings started to dip after the 80s hangover kicked in.

The Midnight Express’s theme is still my favourite theme song alongside Triple H’s The Game theme all though if it wasn’t sung by Mötorhead it wouldn’t be as good as Lemmy’s vocals bring that Jim Johnson song to life (The Game theme was written by WWE’s former music guy Jim Johnson not Mötorhead. Jim wrote the song and Triple H kept saying to him while doing the song “can’t you get it to sound more like Mötorhead?” And after a while Jim said “why don’t you just ask Mötorhead if they’ll do the song?” And Triple H said “really I never knew we could do that”)

pet peeve ... for me it was always THE WWF but just WCW (no the). THE World Wrestling Federation (ie The Federation) but not THE World Champion Wrestling (cause, what THE are we talking about here?). Always drove me nuts when Hogen said "in the WCW". Which for the record means since it changed to WWE ...no mo THE for you.

I have the same peeve as a pet. Wen Bret did the steel plate deal with Greenberg and go's; "hey bischoff and THE wcw...I quit". Brutal end 2 a classic moment.

I remember early in his career in WCW Mark Calaway said in a interview he was told by Ole Anderson "get yourself another job no one is going to pay to see you wrestle. months later Mark Calaway was in WWE became the Undertaker and rest is history fans loved him and payed to see him...proving Ole Anderson wrong. 🤣🤣🤣

Ole was right and wrong at the same time. Nobody paid to see "Mean" Mark Callous same way as "Stunning" Steve Austin and Jean Paul Lesveque weren't going to main event pay-per-views. But The Undertaker, Stone Cold and Triple H with the right gimmicks proved they could do it.

Yeah but AEW did it worse than WCW. Reason for it is cause Adam Cole revealed himself as the "Devil" when in reality it would have made more sense if it was MJF. Adam Cole being the Devil had no logic, thought, or purpose behind it.

Wcw had a referee Lee Scott, anybody know if it was George Scotts son Byron that Jim mentions? Only reason i ask is before Lee Scott refed he was a jobber that took a ridiculous powerbomb from Sid and pretty sure Steiners beat the shit out of him pretty bad.
