Tanks are now such a fundamental part of modern warfare that it's hard to imagine a time without them and yet one morning in 1916, tanks rolled into battle for the first time. How did these juggernauts redefine combat and what did it take to build them in the first place?

This is frankly, unbelievable. To make a WW1 tank in 5 months, operational and to scale with historical accuracy just blows my mind. Total respect and honor to those who fought and gave the ultimate sacrafice. Seriously, what a fantastic project to achieve by those who made Deborah II. May she fly the colors forever. Cheers

I wonder how quickly the tanks from WW1 were made with mass production of the time?

This rules. The appreciation of 20th century British engineering, the history, the passion that these people have to transform some raw materials into a whole tank It’s impressive, educational, but also entertaining. Timeline always has some excellent documentaries 😎

H.G. Wells, in his short story The Land Ironclads, published in The Strand Magazine in December 1903, had described the use of large, armed, armoured cross-country vehicles equipped with pedrail wheels (an invention which he acknowledged as the source for his inspiration), to break through a system of fortified trenches, disrupting the defence and clearing the way for an infantry advance.
