Among today's new class of divas, only Morissette has this level of resonance with the mid to upper belts (5:58). It's always warm, rich, with a vibrant ping. It's because her vocal tract sits very open, maximizing the resonating space of her vocal tract and mouth. Her vocal tract shaping is superior. Her larynx is trained to mostly stay in a low to neutral position. The larynx moves up a tiny bit when going higher, but she has it under control. Most divas today tend to raise the larynx as they go higher eventually pinching off the throat, resulting in a consistently shrill and overly piercing tone. Based on what I am hearing, and if she continues to refine her craft, my prediction is that Morissette (26 years old now) is on a trajectory to become a truly great vocalist. A potential all-timer. P.S. The "crabs" in the Philippines can hate all they want, nitpick her performances all they want, but what I am saying is the truth. Morissette is a generational talent. Haters gonna hate 😉

The sad thing about our amazing local artist only became famous on KZbin if not handled and manage by an international management company will stay for local audiences except for Charice before, Arnel P. of Journey and now that Ppop group SB19 who were handled by foreign management, but the rest who have good potentials can only gathers mostly kababayan crowds whenever they perform abroad on small venues.

Nice collection ... but it also felt a bit weird to me. Although several of the artists featured here are more known than Morissette (Jessi J definitely is, of course), if you look at it from a pure "vocals" perspective, Mori would easily wipe the floor with each of them (with the possible exception, again, of Jessie J, if Jessie gave it all she's got). So, although it was nice to see fellow singers appreciate Morissette, to me it felt a bit like a random football player telling Ronaldo or Messi, "Wow, you're pretty good".
