When confronted by the Flying Dutchman, SpongeBob tries to defend him, and what does Mr Krabs do? He sells SpongeBob‘s soul to the Flying Dutchman for $.62. Even Squidward stands up for SpongeBob after Mr. Krabs sells out the yellow sponge for a few measly coins.
