In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

The task was "Pop the balloons, fastest time wins", not "pop all of the balloons". That's why Als time counts even though 2 got away. The Morse code was a clue, but if you read the task as it is written you can figure it out without knowing the code at all. The balloons, which ones? Any, so long as it's plural and the time between the first one and the last one popped is the time, so pop 2 and it's the time between the first and second. Pop 3 and it's the time between the first and third etc.

Apart from the fact that it would incentivizse bad play in the future, with many "losers" of the show, it's just that Greg decided at some point that it would be the funniest if he really piled it onto them. Pretty much every last-place finisher at some point (often when still being in the middle of the pack) the seal of disapproval and from thereon out everything they did was judged much more harshly. You can't deliberately treat 5 people in a "loser of losers" style competition as unfairly, so it makes little sense.

That’s the joke. I enjoy the tasks where you have to perceive what Alex ‘might’ do. Much more fun to watch than to ‘smash a cake in the fastest time!’. The best ones are where the clue goes totally overlooked (unless you think), “What would Alex do here?” which I think Bob did with the case of peas... The task where one contestant brought the doorbell indoors was genius. I enjoy the tasks most where it’s easy but so easy to do it the hard way... Once everyone starts looking for clues it’ll become boring. So, maybe need the odd task which instead of lights up the room say, lights up a message like, “Not this time!”. “Please do not press the button again!”

@Red Dwarf I know. But I was saying that Greg the taskmaster has actually not anything to do with the tasks so why would doc be mad at him and little bit at Alex who in all reality is the true taskmaster since he decides about the tasks and everything (so why would he be mad at Greg at all and wouldn't he be annoyed with Alex, get it). It's not a big deal, I was just pointing it out as a trivia info.

"From" the table, aside from being fairly clunky in terms of word choice, would have given the game away pretty quickly since "use the items from the table" isn't a natural way of phrasing that sentence. "On" is a valid word choice since the items were still technically on the table, just not on top of it - like putting a magnet on a fridge doesn't necessarily mean putting it on top of the fridge. It's like Richard Osman interpreting one of the tasks that said "put the balls on the mat on top of the hill" to mean "put the balls on the mat that is currently on top of the hill" and realised he could simply bring the mat down the hill, while everyone else took it for granted that the wording meant "take the balls up the hill and put them on the mat". The wording definitely invites one clear interpretation but it's ambiguous enough to allow for others.
