Wait. In the cheeky text messages task, the actual task was "one message a day for the next five months", and the 150 was just a separate remark from Alex simply calculating 5 times 30. If Mark actually sent one message every day for five months, and there were 148 actual days, 148 messages is absolutely enough for the completion of the task.

Wouldn’t work. Lowest number of days over 5 months is if the end of the months of February through June are accounted for, which would be a total of 28 (assuming it’s not a leap year) + 31 + 30 + 31 + 30, or 150. Still a bummer.

I really hate that they stopped doing these in later seasons. I have to imagine the contestants started baking it into their contracts with the show, likely at the behest of an agent, etc. Because these were phenomenally fun twists.
@michaelccozens3 жыл бұрын
I dunno; doesn't seem like the kind of thing someone who wanted to go on Taskmaster would do. Seems to defeat the purpose. I'd guess that people, both contestants and the audience, just started getting wise to the trick, and they cut it out before it got tired.
@sienc743 жыл бұрын
The last 2 series they've had to put more effort into adapting tasks to comply with covid, also knowing the studio wouldn't be in front of an audience. Hopefully we'll see them return in the next series

There's an argument it jumped the shark in series 5 given there were three (four if counting Mark's extra task in the candle round), and honestly, Sally's felt kind of pointless. But yeah there was a four season gap until Mike Wozniak's fart task

The real tragedy is that if Mark Watson got a point or 2 for his task he'd have won the series

I think the "do you know now?" at 16:19 was a lot more savage than the audience's reaction suggests. It was a proper 3rd degree burn.

The best thing about Josh counting the beans etc. Is he also got a tattoo of Greg's name on his foot in the same season. Like how sadistic.

The editors must have metadata on each task so they can play around and generate fun groupings.

I'm absolutely certain they edit it all together to make it the funniest and definitely not in any chronological order.

Stumbling across a clip of mark's text task was what hooked me into this show. Every aspect of this task is incredible, even out of context.

I never noticed this till now: if we’re to assume Josh is reading the task verbatim, his counting tasks have no declaration of winning (“fastest wins” etc.). The trick was hiding in plain sight 😂😂😂
