First thing, the USA won't allow usage of ATACMS or any support, they have 2 carriers at risk of being smashed Russian-made missiles shot by the Houthis near Israel. Totally not worth the risk. The "Kiiv troops" (not "Ukrainian" any longer?) are on their own in Russian terrotory, and mostly on foot (it's safer): they have no artillery, no air defence (too far), no air support. their vehicles are sitting ducks. Good luck. The Russians have all of that. The Russians have moved their special forces there, and they are cutting the roads of supply and retreat. In the past, the Russians were never "closing the lid" on the cauldrons, always leaving a route for retreat. They don't do that any longer for a couple of weeks. The cars on Sudja are the result of a maneuver by the Kiiv guys, they called the people to tell them to evacuate, so to jam the roads, It failed. The people hit the road, but the Russian army was going another route so to flank and contain the Kiiv's Troops attack. The Ukrainians sent a lot more than 1,000 troops, and they're still sending vehicles... As said above, it's a trap: if there is Russian drone footage of that, it means they know where and how many they are, they'll close the bag when they think the loot is big enough. There will be no kill count.

Russia is responding hard and is going straight for western weapons and their operators. Zelenskyy and Stoltenberg tried a huge gamble and is losing it. Maybe 20% of AFU soldiers will make it back across the border but quite soon the army will fall below combat viability. This could happen in a mere 3 days.
