Always loved Spaceways and the music. Gretel is my fave TS1 character. Thanks so much for including all of the announcements, I never realised there were so many different ones. :O

Just subscribed! A channel I can enjoy Timesplitters content in 2018. I saw a comment here about Chinese in detail and saw your response, and that'd be very, very exciting to see due to how iconic it is to the series! Keep up the great work I look forward to watching more.

I love what you're doing. Please keep it up. Also, if you could somehow get character sounds by themselves that would be awesome. I'm talking about like, getting hit by bullets and dying. No one has done this and it kinda irks me. There's some hilarious SFX in this game.

I used a program called QuickBMS and downloaded a script for that program for TimeSplitters 2 to extract files from the .pak archives the game uses, seemed to work for TS1. I'd lost the program and only found it again when making this episode but all the character sound effects seem to be in there under .vag format (playable with MFAudio).

Has, it still has and even some modern games can't even beat it, let alone match it

I definitely recommend it, you can certainly tell it's rough compared to TS2 and TS3 but a lot of challenging gameplay worth giving a go!

Amazing. My housemates and I had TS2 from around 2002-3, and TS:FP from 2005 and I played hundreds of hours in arcade deathmatches with them and solo, playing through story mode, and knocking off the challenges on my own and playing with the TS2 mapmaker. I've spent a fair while in more recent years watching KZbin videos about the games, as well. Yet, somehow, until this very minute I'd never once come across this level in the original game. There's so much from it that found its way across to the next game, and/or was referenced in the later games, I think I'd long had the idea that I broadly knew all about what sort of stuff was in the original. Clearly, I was wrong! It's really quite disconcerting to learn that this level had been hidden from me in plain sight, so to speak, for 20 years and more. What a shame it wasn't included in the sequel(s) in some fashion, it looks like it'd have been great for arcade action. I love its rather 'different' aesthetic, which has a touch of the Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy about it somehow.

please make one on robot factory as there is a the door in arcade mode that i have always wanted to see whats in there. plus there is the lazed off area where you fight the mechinest. BTW love the videos no other way i could see this stuff love it.

I'll definitely do a video on Robot Factory in the future, behind a locked door is the room where you fight the Machinist, though none of his parts are there.

The reason that things dont disapear and reappear is that it is far cheaper for performance to leave resources in memory instead of freeing them up and reloading them

Certainly something the later games do as well, I imagine the NeoTokyo police cars function the same!

Its actually quite funny, once you start not seeing this kind of optimisation method anymore is the time developers stopped worrying about available performance

In TSFP, story mode-scotland and the brave-, there are parts of the castle that seemed like beta areas that didn't make the cut. You can only access these areas with no-clip ( various ps2 cheat discs will have it) There are some towers with nontextured stairs and stairs without without models, they also have barriers so you could walk on it. (here's some info) The creator of this map was originally trying to create a maze (source: I asked him on the TS facebook page.) I'm assuming it didn't make the cut because of time constraints. EA was a bitch... Aswell as file size

Don't get me started on EA :P ... The part in this video where you see me move awkwardly around the level to gain height or pass barriers works on TS1 and TS2, there are a lot of similarities between the two games so depending on how modified / different the TS3 engine is I should be able to use my method on that game too. As I said, I'll eventually release something when finished for people interested in playing around with the game!

The original TS is still my favorite....if it had Elimination and Virus it would be an amazing contender to TS2.
