If I were Corsair, I would make that case a little bit taller, longer and wider so we can comfortably add 2 bottom fans without those having issues with the GPU, Motherboard and other connectors. I'd also love it if we can still add a single fan at the back as an exhaust so we can potentially have a positive air pressure by having 3 exhaust fans (1 back & 2 top) and then 4 intake fans (2 bottom & 2 front). IMO Corsair should also follow NZXT's tempered glass panel solution. It doesn't stick out and you won't need like 4 thumb screws holding it in place.

Just get the ATX version.
@heart40115 жыл бұрын
Jon Donnelly the ATX version is like double this and is way worse because support for a radiator is forgotten and it doesn't have good airflow compared to the 280x version. If you want this case but a little bigger then a Lian Li o11 dynamic will suit you

NOT needed any filter there: 11:39 because it is the part where hot air most go out so, what it needs there is another fan to pullout the air. But if you want to pull in fresh air from there, then yep, you´ll need a filter... then the fans of the upper radiator most be pointing to to the outside direction, that way all air will be pulled out to the top, good solution. Good vid ty.

The design is obviously a series of upgrades to the Air 240 and I love it, they have incorporated most of the changes I asked them for. However the move to tempered glass comes at a price, air flow. The exhaust top is fairly air flow restricted and the front only a little bit less so. The case, as is is awesome for me to use at events as it is beautiful and allows me to show off our graphics cards. However for long term air cooling use the design has some concerns. For this reason i have already begun talking to a modder about modding one of these cases for my personal use at hgome for my main gaming rig. As for the mATX design, I find this case actually work a little better with an mITX board in it. It is a bit big for an mITX design but allows for more cooling options and fits oversized graphics cards.
@James-dy6zh6 жыл бұрын
Uncle Gamer you mean air 240? The design is exactly the same, nothing changed internally. Aesthetically the outside isn’t much of an upgrade it’s just glass! A bit disappointed I will keep my 240 for another 4 years and pass
@unclegamer67056 жыл бұрын
Are you kidding some of the changes are pretty large. For example in the Air 240 there was no way to fit anything beyond a standard height card without modding and even then only a moderate height boost. The 280X fits extra height cards with ease. The bottom intake on the Air 240 would not fit a regualr fan unless you used an ITX board, an ultra slim would barely fit. The 280X fits a standard 120 fan witgh an mAXT and fits a standard 140 if you like with ITX (2 of them in fact plus dual 140 in the front. There are have been quite a few internal changes.

Ive always bought Corsair cases, my present one is the 780T, which is a relatively older case now but not over stylized and comes with a beautiful perspex window on the side. This year I want to go ITX for portability, I've always wanted the 380T because it came with a handle, sadly its no longer made. I looked to the competitors cases but wasn't too happy on their solutions or quality. My ideal ITX build would be a ROG themed, RTX 2080 Ti, Strix Z390, ideally like whats in the video really. This video confirmed what I want, cheers.

1) Turn the grommets on the big tempered glass side-panel around so the high side sits outside and the glass fastens down snug. 2) Nylon washers suit 1/4" or M6 (same washer fits both) stack those on the glass top panel's fastener posts and sit the high side of its grommets face down for extra height. 3) Black duct tape over the ventilation cross-drilled thinggy on the back, or some 80mm fans. 4) Use washers as spacers on the feet for extra height The MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT Mech is short enough to give headroom for a front panel radiator - its is 282mm long, I think Next short GPU is the Zotac Geforce RTX 2070 Super Mini Byski make a full cover water block for the MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT Mech Barrow make a water block for the RTX 2070 Super Mini (not full cover just the GPU and hot stuff) Silverstone make a 280mm long modular PSU of 1200W: ST-1200-PT Strider 1200 Watt Platinum 80+ it fits perfectly Asrock make the X570M Pro4 mATX board. It has 2 full length PCIe-4 x16 and two NVMe gen 4 M.2 SSD ports plus a WiFi NVMe and there is a single row PCIe slot as well. The board is native Crossfire Ready and just needs the two PCIe-4 x16 slots. Inside the case it looks mostly black with brushed aluminium and white heat sinks Swiftech makes the Apogee Drive 2 water pump-on-cpu water block combo, the motor can be purchased with a DDC M35X base and swapped into the bare Apogee Drive 2. A heatshield can be purchased to sit on top without the led in the middle, and an 80mm fan can be fitted onto that. This saves a lot of room. Alphacool source a chiller, Koolance makes an Intercooler and sub-assembly chiller these are just a little more than the ordinary desktop PC budget would prioritise The case looks like it belongs on a desk.

I've been searching for this kind of video and you truly answered some of my questions in mind. I'm actually planning to build a MicroATX PC with this Corsair 280X. I have some compatibility concerns that I want to raise to you. I want to maximize cooling potential so I was planning to install a 280mm corsair AIO in the top like the iCUE H115i ELITE CAPELLIX and 2 QL140 in the front and 2QL140 in the bottom. I have seen in this video that a 280mm rad would probably fit together with 2 140mm fans in the front. I will be only using one GPU, probably the RTX 3080, now my question is: at 8:16 part of this video, would two (2) Corsair 140mm fans fit in the bottom as well with the setup that I am planning?

We honestly need a refresh to the AIR series, I mean if the Air 240 lives on as this, I can only imagine better things for the Air 740's successor... Perhaps a replaceable front panel like the H500M, with a focus on Airflow/Aesthetics?

I don't feel that having a dust filter at the rear is such a big issue. To put it that way, I have a case that I have been using for almost a decade which has a similar setup: front dust filter, none at the rear. Because of the front fans, the case has positive pressure which means that air wants to get out. That makes it very hard for dust to get in.

i got one. i personally really like it. it takes up less horizontal space than the stereo receiver it's sitting on top of. also, unlike Lian-li's mATX/ITX tiny cases they can fit a standard PSU. honestly, air cooling is probably not a good idea, was running a 10400F for a bit with the stock cooler and was hitting 80 lol! however, the MOBO i have now has 2 CPU fan headers that i am running fan splitters off of for my 280mm top mounted AIO, 2 120mm fronts, and with a separate 120mm case fan in the back for positive pressure, and temps are great with 12600K while heavy gaming. as soon as CPU starts to heat the whole case vents immediately lol...
