It's only hard where we test so many cards to try and give you the most amount of data for comparisons. Hope you understand and I will change it for the next one. Love OC3D's reviews, the MSI trio looks like a beast. I managed to get one. I wanted to get the founders but I find that it looks weird with respect to power plug location and extension requirement. The MSI card's the heat + noise is also much better. It's worth the extra.

Thanks for including MS FS2020 in your Benchmarks, that helps a ton. My 1080ti is really struggeling with the Simulator, especially at 3440x1440p. But, since FS2020 is not (yet) using DX12 the results arent completely conclusive yet. I'm still getting a 3080 once the dust of launch and then christmas has setteled a bit. Will probably wait till january.

I don't know what to make of it? When I benchmarked 'Shadow of the Tomb Raider' with the Gigabyte Vision OC, the average FPS at 1080p, highest presets were: CPU = 132 GPU = 215 And the final score was deemed to be 132 FPS.

Had a terrible experience with the Gigabyte 2070 SUPER Gaming OC 3X. Sure it boosts like hell but who cares about those 4 fps when the card is a lot louder than what MSI or Asus bring to the table. Gigabyte also has terrible terrible Software (You can't even use MSI Afterburner on their cards, you have to use their shitty software) and most RTX 2000 Gigabyte Cards have a problem with their fan control. The fan speeds are oscillating at every RPM. This was most noticeable to me, when it was in idle at 55 degrees Celsius and it still had to crank up the fan speed to over 1000 RPM every 2 seconds? I spend an entire year trying every possible fix I could imagine but in the end the card was the problem. So I returned it and luckily got my money back because the retailer I bought it from actually cares about what they deliver to the customer unlike Gigabyte who have the worst customer service imaginable and try to play dumb when they hear about a problem you can read all over the internet! Sorry for the rant but I am never ever buying a Gigabyte GPU anytime soon.

have to say my 1080ti Aorus was great wish i could say the same about my current zotac 2080ti the cooler is absolute garbage fan control is a mess the card tweaks due to a to big heat sink so the back fan scrapes the shroud after about 2h then i have to fix the support again i resulted to having a stick supporting the back of the card heatsink is to back heavy should have made it a 2.5 slot card and not longer the card makes these 3080's look like babies because it has like 4cm heatsink floating unsupported at the back utter garbage also quite loud even when not grinding

I would like to add one thing that I’ve heard from other reviews and comparisons: The msi seams to have the big heatsink not so much to up the performance (as you’ve clearly shown) but rather to keep itself almost utterly silent. Would you say that is something you noticed or not? I’m looking to make a quiet build that I can sit next to without having to use headphones all the time.

Here in DK currently the MSI is same price as the asus TUG. So i preordered that. I owned a MSI 970 for like 6 years, and its been working great.

Seems that the TUF pricing was only for the first week or so locally, the non OC model went up 20% in price after a couple of weeks. The MSI price seems to be similar here in Norway as in the UK, ASUS is way higher. Seems like the TUF cards were pre-ordered way too much compared to other cards, so prices were raised. Probably a good thing, the waiting line for those cards seems to be up to six months or more. Gigagyte is also as expensive here as the TUF OC, 50 pounds over the MSI card.

You said in the review you better can get the normal TUF instead of the OC TUF, because we can overclock it manually. But the TUF OC cards are BETTER BINNED chips, so the OC version is better in temps/watts/power. ;)

I think the only reason that the TUF runs cooler is that it has lower boost clocks ( the actual maximum boost clocks, not the rated boost clocks). The Strix model will be comparable with the other two in terms of performance.

It seems like ASUS and GIGABYTE are the only ones thinking about the future with the additional HDMI 2.1. port. What if we want to plug in a VR headset and a TV, 2 TVs, or even 2 VR headsets? The only use case I see for 3 or 4 DisplayPort is for triple monitor setups for racing/flight simulators, and that is now being killed by VR headsets/smaller 4k TVs.

At stock its fine - if you want to really push the overclocks then you need to up the fan speeds / curve to keep it happy. I really like the design and engineering thats gone into that cooler though.

The Gigabyte wins this one for me - Cheaper than the MSI whilst trading blows with it and an extra HDMI port without losing a display port. Very vital for those who want to use a 2.1 hdmi TV/Display and VR. Seems crazy that MSI didn't put on 2 hdmi ports.

BEWARE! JayZTwoCents has a video about cards with cheaper capacitor arrays crashing. Cards like Gigabyte and Zotac has these arrays. MSI has an array that's not as good as the founder's edt but within spec, while the ASUS has a better one than the founder's edt

Do the fancy counter-rotating fans actually make any difference? MSI seemed to inch ahead, but that was the only card with standard fans.🤔 I feel sorry for reviewers these days. The simple age-old question of "Which is the fastest?" The answer is; "Well.....😏" I seriously wonder if tide times, barometric pressure, humidity makes a difference (temp+humidity should). As someone who ran a pub, you would not believe how much of a difference lunar cycles make to humans. If it's a full moon, do not skimp on door staff! Heat also makes people go crazy.

@@martinarscott3524 Ebuyer had quite a few up at about 00:15 but I waited until the Asus ones came up which they never did and by 00:45 they had all gone. Just refreshing the other sites all night, nothing really happened until about lunch time today, then it all went mental.

I don't think Nvidia UK had any intention of selling FE cards. I had 4 windows (at different Nvidia pages) auto refreshing, and not a single one offered 'Buy' or 'Add to cart' - they all instantly switched to 'OUT_OF_STOCK'. No site lag, timeouts or crashes neither. £650 is excellent price-to-performance... except it never existed. It was a complete scam.

@@teroteki Im looking to get a 3090 next week in the UK...any advice? Hopefully there wont be quite so much demand and Nvidia would have learnt from their mistakes. Otherwise is Ebuyer the best place to look in your opinion?

​@@BENBOBBY If it's anything like the 3080 launch was: • Nvidia UK - Zero chance of getting one. • OverClockers - will have huge price hikes (£100+!) and unstable servers. • Ebuyer might accidentally sell them early at midnight and have no stock for the afternoon release can cancel your order (crap support too). • Box will have no stock. • CCL will have limited stock but their checkout will never complete or the item will be 'discontinued' and removed from the store page. • Currys/PCWorld will only have a few of the cheapest cards available (you might be able to pickup if you live in a main city like Manchester/London otherwise good luck!). • SCAN will allow you to 'buy' but then you'll be backlogged into a pre-order queue (and that's assuming their site doesn't collapse). • Amazon won't even list it. • Ebay will probably be the main place to buy a card from the scalpers and/or scammers. Honestly, it's been such a circus, I don't envy anyone trying to get a 3090 next week. My only advice is, make sure you're logged into your account and have the correct address/payments already setup. And be careful, since the servers will be choking your order might go through twice (like mine did) and have £1500 x2 (or more) removed from your bank account. Also, don't expect the top-tier cards to actually be available (they probably haven't even been made yet, let alone stocked) aim to get the cheaper models. Have multiple windows to different retailers/cards and 'auto-refresh' on (just remember to turn it off before you start to checkout though!! Don't want your payment screen to refresh at the last second lol). Have a clear order of options of which retailer you want to purchase from and which card you want and be prepared to just accept whatever you can find. Set a clear limit on the maximum you're willing to pay - in the hype of the moment when the retailer puts a £1800+ tag on a graphics card, don't get swept up, ask yourself if it's really worth it. Are you comparing the thermals when the ASUS has a slower clock boost? Why not set the clock boost the same on all cards and then compare thermals? Of course the other cards will run hotter if they are clocked higher?
