Question for you, you mentioned the holographic…couple of questions: PRINTING: When we loaded the holographic substrate onto our HP Latex 360, it loaded fine but later we noticed the material started rolling off of the spool. Printer told us that it was loose or that it came off its spool (keep in mind this was a brand new roll) and we looked under and sure enough, it was. Any ideas on how to coarse correct that? CUTTING: do you cut holographic on the Graphtec? We have the 8600, and we had issues with it cutting correctly. We cut plenty of 3.4 and 6mil matte vinyl with no prob. As soon as we get the holographic in the cutter, it’s like the reflectiveness is messing with the sensors in seeing the registration marks so when it started cutting the stickers the cut was like 1/4 to 1/2 inch off from the actual design. As soon as we printed onto a matte 3.4mil, it was fine. Any thoughts or tips on that? Your input is appreciated.

Pretty useful content. we are running Latex 335 and a Graphtec CE 6000 combo. We however face issue with sharpness on the edges of Registration marks. Vertical part of the registration mark seems to spread a bit, though this is not the case with the artworks being printed. We have tried a different profile oprimized for small text, but the improvment is very little and the problem still persists.

Thanks for sharing. Its never easy and everyones experience is different. One thing I would like to say is that I dont think this is a fair comparison for anyone that is doing a lot of printing. If you have only replaced a couple of print heads in 2 years then you either have really bad quality prints and no concern for actual colour or you are not printing much. HP print heads degrade through usage and depending on the model would be replaced around every 4 to 8 litres of ink through them which is per 2 colour channel. This means over 3 years an average signage business would go through around 20 print heads. This is to ensure colour consistency and no degrading prints. This then makes the cost of ownership and running the printer expensive but if you need to do repeat jobs then this is whats needed or you can never match up a job. If you are doing this for your own work then it comes down to pride. Again thanks for sharing but thought I would also add some thoughts. If you have your first print, compare it with your current print and see the colour shift. Also they need to be constantly callibrated, this is another pain point and time consumer. They also suck energy like no tomorrow. Other than this HP is great.

I run them the same as everything else, I just mask them afterword. I usually add $20-100 depending on the size of the job. With my new calculator, you can add that as a "extra". Or you could add it as a lam or a lam+tape.

What's the average cost per square foot for the inks so far? What's total square foot you get from a set of ink on this machine printing at high quality?
@ttms2 жыл бұрын
It's usually around $0.15. The square footage from a cartridge depends on what you're printing. If it's full coverage, it can go fast. If you mainly do stickers like me, it lasts for a long time.
@delanoyoutoob2 жыл бұрын

Just got my HP 115 print and cut combo all assembled today. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the printer connected to the internet. I'm definitely not educated when it comes to networks, proxy servers and all that other stuff. Any info you can give to help?

On your 50 yard roll of vinyl, does a set of ink cartridges last the whole roll? Just trying to figure out sort of a cost reference as to how long the inks may last on average ( i know the coverage can change depending on the quality of print). 50 yard roll of vinyl and then the inks last 25% or 50% or all of the roll of media. Thanks, enjoy your channel. Considering getting an HP latex after watching all of your great info.
@ttms2 жыл бұрын
For my typical orders, I can print many rolls using a single set of inks. If I'm running a heavy saturation job, them some colors will go faster than others. Yellow and black tend to be the colors I go through the most. Ink cost is around $0.15 per square foot.
@millunare33752 жыл бұрын
@@ttms Thanks for the reply. Really appreciate all of the information you put out. That is good to know. I did purchase your calculator last night. I am not sure if it was you or someone else who was saying not to go with the 315. When I looked at the specs it seems like they all take the same ink cartridges. But someone was saying it is cheaper to run the and 365. I guess I do not understand the reasoning unless it just lays down less ink. Again, Thanks for all of your info on your journey.
@ttms2 жыл бұрын
@@millunare3375 They're the same cost to run. The 365 is just faster and has a few more features. Ink wise there is no difference.
