The Uru indigenous peopleuse living in Lake Titicaca use bundles of dried Totora reeds to make reed boats and the islands themselves. Sylvia, her husband and children live on this island, which they call Winay Totora (eternal totora). It was built 10 years ago by their parents. Sylvia takes us through the steps of building island such as theirs. Since the reed rots in the water, new layers have to be added constantly.
