Someone or something has taken control of Rogue Servants and is using them to attack some of the competing Masters, while remaining hidden from sight. But was every Rogue Servant truly dominated so? Miyamoto Iori and Saber set out to learn what they can, while Miyamoto Musashi and her Master Takao Dayu focus on their own problems.

IIRC the main thing stopping you from just saying peace and ditching the Grail War with your Servant is that Servants are super expensive to maintain. During the Grail War this isn't as bad since the Leylines and/or Grail is helping subsidize the amount of mana needed to maintain the Servant but without that support even if you're a Grade A mage you'll be struggling to maintain your Servant especially if they're a mana hog.
